Ok, so I know it was covered somewhere in the last 9 pages but what is the planned meeting time at the trail head ?
Yes sir here

Well crap. I just got a message from Jason....
Well, I'm having to do something that I've never done before - Cancel a trip. I have had some issues come up that have made it detrimental for me to be away from home for this weekend. I hate doing this, given the late nature of this message.

I attempted to find a couple of people I trust to take a group out and they were initially for it until the local news started forecasting 4.5" of rain for the area from Tuesday-Sunday. That coupled with the current water levels would make almost all stream crossings into unpassable death traps.

This is the route I was intending to use for this weekend.

HWM

It is aimed for water crossings, given that the trip is the high water mark trip. These are already pretty decent right now, just high enough to be fun but not high enough to require a snorkel.

Again, I am terribly sorry and if I felt comfortable being away from home during this time frame I would be there - even if submarines are needed.

So with that I will not be able to do my "dry" run....which is OK. I ran most of it last year. He posted it up the route he was going to run this weekend however based on my conversation with him it is more water crossings and less technical stuff. The original route is more technical and less water. So.....we will run this map HWM15Public

We will start in Jerusalem Arkansas and end in St. Joe. Meeting time will be around 12-1 pm we will meet at the Circle H Store. Pick up any last items and go. I would like to keep the total group to 12 rigs. So if Dave and Axle want to go...you guys are welcome. It will be an awesome trip and the water levels should be down so we can comfortably cross everything without any floaties.....

Your truck sits about the same height as mine I would guess. That means the intake is somewhere about 4+ ft off the ground, you would have to be in some deep $hit for it to suck water.

Now, one thing I haven't seen anybody mention, are you guys sealing up your distributors ? The wrong splash of water upward through the vent hole is going to shut you down pretty quick.

I was reading about that the other day - one guy suggested silicone which doesn't seem like a good idea (it needs to breathe) but there is a mod to relocate the breather tube. I'll see if I can find it and post it up.

My concern isn't the total depth, but the initial drop off into the water nose first. My intake is right next to the left headlight, prime location to act as a funnel to bring water in.

I'm not too worried about the distributor. I may add breather lines, but i'm not taking a snorkel up to the roofline, so if I'm in that deep I'll have other issues to worry about anyway...

@half k cruiser , @tornadoalleycruiser was going to ride up front on the stinger. If water gets into his beer, that's my sign the water is too deep to proceed.

With moving my my intake backward and up in the engine compartment, i'm not worried about it. My ECM is currently mounted in the right kick panel a few inches off the floor. That's my real concern. It was getting a little dicey at Disney when I had the doors off and water filling the cab!

Just wanted to remind everyone one last time to check your steering shaft seal...@1mac and I are fix'n to replace ours Sat morning along with extending all the breathers and thought I'd put it out there again. I thought Mitch's was fine until I pulled back the floor insulation cover and took a good look. Definitely an area that can allow water intrusion quickly at much lower levels than our dorkels are preparing us for.

Doing just a little research on weather as we get nearer and these are a couple cities that I'll be watching. 10 days out puts us a couple days from the trip and there's a lot of rain the forecast.

I'm not quite sure how relevant this information is since it's quite a few miles away but here are water levels for a couple areas north of where we'll be.

If the crossings are impassible we will find a way. These rivers tend to raise fast and fall fast as well. I will check with the locals before we go if we need to make any adjustments.

Are we running CB or Ham radio on this trip? Or a mix?

If Ham, I don't know everyone's call sign, so if folks want to post up their call, handle, name I'll make up some laminated dash cards for everyone.

Any possibility of borrowing a radio for the trip? No radio and I don't plan on making the push to get my license before the trip ($$). Also, if anybody wants to ride along, I'll have an open spot.
