Anyone running a LS/AX15/3Spd Tcase?

I've started down the path of this swap and just wanted to see if anyone else has tried this as well. I am in a 1969 FJ40 and since my torque tube is closer I am at a crossroads. Searching has come up with much for my specific situation. Link to my thread below if anyone is interested:

There's a thread in the hard-core section named Shipwreck. He started by using a sbc, AX15 and probably still runs it. I havent followed that thread in years.

I've been wanting to try a HZJ79 R151/splitcase case combo (essentially the same as AX15) with an LS in a 40 and graft the still available 70 series tunnel cover, boots, and linkages to a 40 tunnel so that part of it is all OEM Toyota

Not a super HD transmission but I think would be completely fine a 40. They shift so much nicer then any of the HD options.

I had the AX15 in my scrambler behind the 351W. It was a brand new box with an Atlas transfer. It shifted nicely and was a nice box. But I prefer the H55.

I had a new H55/split case behind a 5.7 Vortec in my HJ47 and i find that setup more pleasant than the 351/AX15 in my scrambler. I put over 30,000 miles on my Hj47 with that setup and it never missed a beat nor leaked a drop. I only put a few thousand miles on the Scrambler though, so cannot comment on the lengevity of the AX15.
