Yea, I dug around in there and could not figure out what goes where.

you are correct, the OEM high beam indicator light has 12V on it when any headlight hi or lo is on (so do your high beams, it is the same ground circuit). mr T smokes the "i like to switch the ground wire" variety... so he controls the ground of that indicator and only gives the indicator switch ground when HI's are on. i just wrestled with this wiring up my KC lites to only come on with HI beams. if you find the ground wire for the indicator light it will be switched correctly to light up with your hi beams.

Got the dash finished up. Black looks much better.

Thanks Kirk. I just need to work through the #8 misfire. I put some injector cleaner in the fuel and I'm going to drive it around a bit before I dig in to it. But yea, homestretch. I'm kinda looking forward to the next conversion. I'm thinking a first gen 4 Runner with a VW TDI.

I am surprised you texans had ignition and fuel issues. I must have gotten lucky on my used engine.

That would be a cool swap.

The engine came from the north and had been sitting in the donor for 2 years inside a shop. So, I'm not surprised. There is always bugs to work out on a conversion like this. I'm going to rework the shifter this weekend and am planning to move the fuel pump to a different/safer place.

she's so purdy! looking good! i dig the ultragauge there. nice spot, is the face of it shaded or do you get sun on it at weird angles? or does that matter?

It is bright so it does not matter, for the daytime. It can take direct sun and still be readable.

Me too! If they are I'm thinking of putting some smoked plastic something on them if it is too bright.

WOO HOO!!! R&R's #8 injector with one that Wayne sent me and the fixed the #8 misfire code. THANKS WAYNE!! :cheers: Probably the easiest thing I've done on this. I took it out for a spin and it cruises great! I threw a max RPM warning. :)

Left to do:
* Reprogram the throttle. Currently 1/2 down = full. I need to find someone with the software.
* Adjust the shifter
* Put in the A/C
* Redo the exhaust

At least is drivable now!!!
 
COOL! Yeah, I'm reading and keeping up with Kirk's and yours. :popcorn: Glad it worked out! I had an injector stick the other day on a project car and I put a dab of carb cleaner in it and operated the injector, tapped on it with my wrench and it unstuck.

But who needs to do that when you have an extra set of injectors laying around!

I can tune your pcm when we figure out the throttle. I'll look at the program tonight and if I find what I'm looking for I'll test it on my pcm as soon as possible. I'm sure we aren't the first ones to have run across this. I'm not a genius, I just stand on the obvious shoulders of the men before me, just like the ones before them. And I work hard. Poke around on the Cheby forums or LS1tech, or whatever and do some throttle searching. I want to say I already looked once to no avail. The search "keywords" are, well, the key..

WOO HOO!! iT PASSED INSPECTION TODAY!!! Starting to figure out the A/C. Some vehicles have compressors that vary the compression. Hopefully a quick call to Austin Rebuilders will clear things up.
