Hey Folks,

Just joined the forum and looking forward to receiving my new to me 1990 hzj75 troopy on the way from Land cruisers direct. Started off in nissan which was quickly sased and served me well for 13 years. Trip to moab in the nissan showed me how small those are and needed to get into something larger and more reliable. Grew up around these trucks overseas, and coincidentally had the exact same model growing up (color and all), so looking forward to reliving some old memories as well as making new ones. Did the crawling thing and shifted interests to overlanding. Truck arrives states side in june/july. Hope to get to know the folks on here and hopefully wheel with you all soon.

dang another troopy. Welcome

what part of the state are you in??

Awesome! Welcome Andrew!! Can't wait to see the new rig :D

Yes, it will be nice to see yet another 70 series here ...

That looks awesome :D You're gonna love that 1HZ! @southerncruiser62 has a HZJ75 as well!!

Look forward to seeing that on my commute to Clayton every morning/afternoon! If you see a lifted black FZJ80 or John Deere green FJ40, give a wave!

Nice looking truck, congrats and welcome. This club really has some cool unique LCs. Making me think more and more about just base lining my 69 FJ40.

Welcome. Try to get out to the meeting this Wednesday, even if you can't bring the truck...the RAL folks would love to meet you and it's a great chance to pick the brains of some idiot savants. See the thread on it for time/location. Wining, dining and mirth making are all on the table this time.

I look forward to meeting you at a club event.

@GarnerFJ40 Ive seen your black rig a few times, there is a surprising amount of classic wheelers around these parts. I keep seeing a sweet series III rover near me but always in my corolla and i feel weird waving from the econobox. I drive the nissan every friday or so when i havent broken anything, 13 mpg highway makes it fun. I dont know if i will sell it yet, too much work went into it and it still runs (mostly) :-)

@JohnVee Would it be appropriate to show up in that rig to the shindig? I know some groups might poo poo that....

You'll be more than welcome to bring whatever to the meetings. Very informal and just a bunch of gear heads that love landcruisers - doesn't keep us from drooling on other cools rides (like a badass Mustang @Green Hell Mustang ). I must admit, even though I dig that rig, I was hoping the pics would be of an old school Patrol - Roy Rogers style.

Welcome to ONSC!

@mtweller tell me about it. I debated for months on a GQ patrol or the LC. Came down to 2 things, whatever i bought had to be reliable and have a decent aftermarket support in the US. The choice was made for me when i almost bought a sweet LWB gq from panama with a td42, but could not find anywhere stateside that could source parts that i needed for an engine repair it needed.

With the cruiser i had Kurt from cruiseroutfitters, equipt1, and a few other folks that could get whatever i needed. The sealing deal was Steve from Land cruiser direct found the perfect low mileage cruiser that was in magnitudes better shape than that Patrol.

An added bonus was its the exact year of the cruiser we had growing up in Zambia, so it was a little nostalgic. We had a sweet 40 as well. I miss those trucks... Pictured below, with one of my hunting buddies.

Quinton, Brett and Greg have all owned the same troopy. Myself, Darin, and Stan have all worked on it quite a bit also.

Alex had another troopy that he recently sold
