Thanks all, thats great to know there are a few within a relatively short distance. The replacement K9 rack from equipt1 arrived. Still 45 days out on the arrival of the cruiser from aussie land. List of mods is small for now, mild build planned. Arb front, air lockers, OME lift and said rack. Id like to keep things as stock as possible, except doing my research on stereos, most people have cut into the door panels for after market installs. Id like to get some ideas if you guys have any.

What would be ideal is if i can keep the stock head unit, add a blue tooth module inline somewhere, as well as a amp that takes speaker level line (i dont think the stock head unit has rca out :-) ) ill continue to do some research on it.
Another thing that ive been trying to decide on is seating. Debating changing the front bench to two buckets, Id be keeping the first row offold up jump seats but removing the second row in the future in favor of some drawers, fridge mount and other storage. She will definately keep me busy for sure.

If current owners have build threads, can you shoot them my way? Ive poured over some of them on here and expo portal, most show exterior mods, id like to see what people have done for the interior.

This interests me as well

Sam is exaggerating somewhat. I start off with a finger or two before I move on to larger body parts. Most folks register their Cruiser before it gets to this. : )

Haha! Yikes! yes, i do plan on posting up when it is in my hands. :-) @1978HJ45, do you have a build thread somewhere? Id like to see what you have done!

You're being generous Charles .... I am guessing more like 3% tech ;)

Sorry, I was bragging a bit and I was counting fried chicken recipes as tech. : )

Page 17 of 185... almost have an idea of what your pickup looks like :-P

So far, have insights to interesting relationships between 1978HJ85 and crushers....

My thread is like a cereal box with a toy in it. You have to dig almost to the bottom to find the prize. :)

Hey Folks, quick question, insurance..... Classic car insurance relegate the cruiser to be a garage queen. While im not keen on rock crawling this truck... i do want to take it to the outterbanks/uwharrie/moab/vermont for camping an light wheeling.... what are some of you insuring your rigs as? Please PM if you dont want to post up. Ill be sad if some drunk ass driver wrecks it and ill get a check for 1500 bucks....

I don't have a good answer to your question since I just put liability on mine so I could legally take it to the Meet & Great this year, but If/When you plan a Green Mountain run, drop me note. You looking at the VT Overland or just busting out a Gazetteer and running ancient roads?

Auto Owners insurance on my BJ73. Insured as a pleasure vehicle with an agreed value policy that is equal to what I paid for it plus accessories I plan to add. I had to document the price I paid and provide pictures. About $375 per year for full coverage ... YMMV

Appreciate the responses. I think Ive got a bead on a decent quote. Same as @elkaholic, without the stigma of a "classic car" insurance
