After 500+ Miles, still no pending code for p0430. looks like the fuel filter was the issue, will update with my findings.

I am unsure how you can isolate one injector at a time. The only test our diagnostic kit could do was an activation test on a single injector..

i can confidently say that P0430 is gone with replacing fuel filter.
it used to pop every 500 miles, now its been 2+K and no code.

May be the gas you buy.

But there was a number of test suggested, you did not perform, once filter seem to cure! Or had done by mechanic, that were done wrong or result indicate you've a compression issue.

There is something I'll be looking into in April/May time period. It's the blower motor of A.I. and switches. Seems the foam filter in blower may fall apart and get into impeller damaging it. Than gets in switches and possible in CATS.

I removed the fuel filter earlier to check it if its clogged, gas was nice and clear. put it back together and drove for 10 miles, turned it off to have a bite turned it on and the lights were off.
my conclusion is I am having fuel issue and 90% from fuel pump. will replace it with oem at the soonest and will report back.

since this has been done, code is gone again. A week before that, code was coming on everyday after clearing it.

update: as I discussed previously where I think I have fuel issue causing the code p0430. to recap, I did the following :

1- replaced fuel filter the code disappeared by itself but after awhile came back again.
2- disconnected the fuel filter and reconnect and the code vanished and back again.

3- recently, I added octane booster and tried @2001LC carbon burn with Trans on 3ed gear and reach rpm close to 3000 for short distance again light went off but back again same day.
4- today, I looked at the gas cap ( never been changed) and notice it says to rotate until ONE click or engine light will come on. I opened it and closed it with one click, as described and the light went off. so I headed out and bought new gas cap and replaced it while DTC off. I noticed big difference between both caps in terms of the rubber sealer where the old one is pushed inward further than the new one.

Hope to solve the issue and will update accordingly.

You've had multiple issue for years affecting CATs. Number one seem to be bad gas. When I suggested bad gas last year. It was because of conversation Chuck of FIS (Fuel Injector specialist) had with the a UK supplier of FI cleaning equipment. They said, in your area, bad gas is damaging FI. Stands to reason, that fuel pump wear faster weaken flow/pressure and fuel filter is getting clogged. With this bad gas!

You also had inconclusive compression test. I say that because, I doubt you had 110 to 120 PSI range. That is well below minimum compression of a 2UZ. When compression drops that much it a 1,000,000 to 1 the the balance so even, By balance I mean they 10 PSI difference between cylinder you reported. You had used a K&N filter which will reduce compression over time. Especially where dust in atmosphere high. They are not near as good at filter as OEM air filter.

I did just noticed something review this thread. This vacuum hose for EVAP system IIRC does affect fuel tank pressure and absolutely affects engine vacuum. Is turned and clamp not in position. This tells me the intake manifold was likely removed at some point at just this vacuum line from EVAP VSV . Although not a very bad vacuum leak as far as engine running. It is a drop in pressure in EVAP.

Only now just getting the gas cap, may have had minor effect. Since you never got a gas cap, it's likely minor effect.

Over the years you may have damaged or clogged the CAT(S) some. @Julian Stead showed a vacuum test that can be revealing. Consider a back pressure test on the CAT themselves. This takes special vacuum gauge (~5PSI max) and 18mm adapter to thread into A/F sensor port upstream of CAT.

Minor things add up.

I'd also watch FT and ECT, IAT, RPM, speed and IAT in real time, logging this data on your drives. Very likely your engine is running hot. May be spiking under certain conditions.

What I'd do if here.

• Log data on drives.
• Coolant system service, starting with radiator fin cleaning. Taking hard look at Fan clutch.
• Tune, stopping all vacuum leaks. No leak is a good leak! Use OEM air filter.
• Replace spark plugs if over ~90K miles. Make sure all still snug if over 45K miles.
• Replace Coil boots with Denso COP boot kit, while servicing spark plugs.
• At minimum have fuel injector clean with onboard fuel injector cleaning service (hook-up to fuel rails cleaning system). Best pull fuel injectors and have tested and rebuilt by the best. Use fuel system cleaner very often Like adding 44k or Chevron Techron to your gas
• Replace fuel filter very often due to bad fuel in your area, may help. Typically fuel filters do not need replacing, but once every 90K in worst case (dirty gas). Where gas is clean, they can go a lifetime. Just as a test you could do with each P0430. If you get good result as you did first time, ...WELL! Keep tying.

Once these lines removed. They tend to then fit back loose. If you can easily rotor, replace it. Partsouq is great sour in your part of the world.

While intake manifold off, did you do any other work. i.e. starter, A.I pump, water bypass joint front and rear gaskets?

i only replaced the manifold gasket, spark plugs and i sent my Injectors to have them cleaned (they said they were dirty) only. i was going to replace the starter but i dont have an issue yet so i left it alone-labor here is not very expensive- when time comes, i will replace it

Since you do not know what it is. You'll not likely have seen inside A.I. pump to see the filter. But here is what I'm asking about.

A.I pump is under the intake manifold (IM) of the VVT engines. It is required in 100 series made for USA market, as part of pollution controls.

A.I. pump can be seen by looking under the IM from LH front of engine with a flash light. It is black plastic and sits in front of starter. If you have the system, the A.I. VSV for SWs #2 BK1 & BK2 can easily be seen on top RH side of intake manifold with vacuum lines connected to them.

I need to know if this filter is gone or still in the A.I pump. It can only be seen with intake manifold off, or A.I. pump out of the engine so it can be looked into to see the foam filter.
