12 shiny new standard bore lifters. I've been buying spares to rebuild my original 12ht that broke down in Canada and this is one of those parts I still need to buy for it while they're still in the system.
I don't have a very good powder coating gun so I ended up putting the powder on pretty thick trying to fill in the areas the gun wasn't applying good coverage. Seemed to work out well though because it came out smooth as glass. May have to start doing it like that more often. Wish I would have gotten a before picture of these and one after the preheat gas out process while they where a dark bronze color.
Work trip had me out of town for 5 weeks but finally getting back at it. Picked the cylinder head up from the machine shop and got some paint on it this evening. It got new push rod tubes, valve seals, a valve job, new guides, decked, and checked for cracks. Clean bill of health so it's ready to go.
Taping was a bit tedious and I made sure to pull the tape after an hour or so before the paint fully set.
Galen, with a motor this nice, you know what you should be doing with the rest of the truck. Way to nice (and not too common) of a 60 series truck not to do it .
Jimmy, if I didn’t have two frame off projects in line I’d frame off this one so fast...but I am currently Cruiserless as all my running trucks are down!
So it might have to be a sparkly new motor in a relatively clean engine bay for a while.
And yeah I need to ride with @davegonz and the rest of the Austin cruiser MTB crew More than I do!
