Twice.

Camo FJ40

I found this FJ40 for sale in Benton City, WA with a cool paint job, wonder if it's worth looking at: http://tinyurl.com/8kp3zc3:bounce2:

Thanks Jim,

Also subscribed.

Thanks, John

"Restored" is such a funny word. Vehicles of all types and conditions can be "daily driven" and have "off-road capability". Big hunks of crap can drive 65-70 MPH.

Yes, I would consider that. But as you can see, my plate is rather full at the moment.

BTW, for this project, I am in desperate need of either:
three .75mm O/S pistons,
or
six 1mm O/S pistons.
To fit 75-80 2F.

Aftermarket is completely dried up (which prolly means the toyota factory has stopped producing).:bang:

LMK if Toyota can still supply. Or maybe I'll call tomorrow.

Out off office till Thursday Jim.

Note new contact info in sig.

The seller/restorer/appraiser is Brett Young of "Auto Appraisals & Pre-Buy Inspections", according to a business card. Can't find any info regarding his professional Cruiser restoration business.

He only shows up on 'mud to sell or defend against baseless allegations.

I'll get some initial FJ40 pics up very soon and a link outta this thread.

Is this the same guy? His name is Brett and he's in Benton. Different MUD screen name. FJ40Nut1976 Posts #9 & 11

From your description and your thread, I'd take legal action. Have him front the bill to correct his "restoration."

Some of you might be wondering just how good Jim is. Imagine Rainman, but instead of counting cards or toothpicks, he lifts the hood of your 40 and starts rattling off everything that is wrong with it faster than you can write it down who's on first. And that is before he has even torn anything apart.

His guidance and patience were invaluable to me during my frame off REBUILD. "Restoration" is often a missused term in our community. On numerous occasions he took time out of his schedule to stop by and help me figure out what I had fawked up. It has been over 7 years and the carb/top end rebuild he did for me has not missed a beat.

Jim's reputation in this community speaks for itself...keep up the awesome work.

On a personal note-Jim you wouldn't happen to have a 4 blade fan laying around the shop. One of my blades decided snap off and lodge itself in the radiator. It prolly snapped off because that engine runs so damn good;)

Cheers
