If you can make use of them and have 2 66” and 2 58” Yakima cross bars I no longer need.

Shoot over some pics if you can. Are they capable of bolting to the gutter clamps?

The 58” pair would be cutting it super close, I think I needed 60” on the nose to make it fit.

I’m heading to a fab shop on Tuesday with the roof rack to have them bend up 3 crossbars that will allow me to drop the rack in place and bolt it down. The plan is to have the ability to pull the rack off if I want without having to pull the crossbars, leaving me with the option of still having a place for a rod vault.

I had the 58” bars on the front tapered section of the roof and the 66” for the back. You could cannibalize the Yakima gutter mounts and I think they would mount to the towers you have.

Just a thought. I wouldn’t mind an excuse to drive to MT

Let me think on this.

I'll see what kind of plan the metal fab guy can come up with and what his cost will be.

I'm not sure I want to go with rounds bars up top, I am wanting to keep a flat surface up there.

Does anyone ever NEED an excuse to drive to Montana?

Automatic increase of 50 hp.

I had a local metal shop bend some beams for my rack, they are 5' 6" and sit pretty close to the outer edges of the gutter clamps.

After mocking everything up and nailing down the position of everything, I drilled some holes for the clamps and rack.

After a nice cold beer I thought it might be a good opportunity to drill a hole 3/4" from the edges, for say a hammock.

Cleaned up the metal with some SPI degreaser, shot some primer and covered it with flat black.

Bolted everything back on and drove it to work today.

I forgot to mention, I had those beams bent that way to allow me to slide the roof rack across them and into place, a single person operation.

Pic of previous post.

A little theft deterrent for my cooler, we'll see if it shakes loose this weekend. It seems pretty solid once it's made up wrench tight, at least if someone steals my cooler they'll have to earn it. I put one on each side.

From the one pic it looked like your roof rack was 8' wide! Made more sense once I saw the next pics. Looks good. That old roller I bought from you is still giving life to more cruisers and I plan to use more of it this weekend. BTW I love the pics of out west, I hope to make it out there again soon.

I'm glad that roller is still putting out some good parts, it was left for dead before I picked it up!

Yeah that pic of the roof rack is a little deceiving when it is slid out like that, those beams make is super simple to install.

Put it to use up in the mountains today searching for trout streams.

Found some snow, got hailed on, drove through frog strangling gully gushing thunderstorms, and found an incredibly nice stream.

That water is close to knee deep in that pic!

Did I mention storms?

My rig leaks all around the gutter, my kids let me know that I need to fix that asap.

The stream right next to Arch Stanton's grave.

Ok, I'm gonna have to stop following your page...sheesh! Back in the '80s, I owned 20 acres about 10 miles west of Whitehall, had to go through 2 miles of the National Forest to get to it, off of highway 10 (I think it has changed to, maybe '2' now?). Looking at your beautiful pictures sure makes me miss having that!
