What should I do with an empty cruiser?

A safe with guns...No brainer! Maybe a good dog too?
Well I was hoping to build a box with a couple of drawers in it but I also need to keep the rear seat for my kids. I tried to mock a couple ideas up but I didn't like how high the seat was.

Looks like for now I'll just live with the seat in the back and stash stuff wherever.

I've been thinking of installing a Big Sky gun rack across the hardtop for the goodies.

They (Big Sky) make some great stuff!! I had one of their racks in my work vehicle a few years ago, and loved it! I was going to put one in my Tacoma but didn’t for some reason...I still don’t know why??

Cool setup...my 40 is almost there.

I'm thinking maybe an overhead storage area in the back, for my rig. I really don't want to carry all my tools under the driver seat, and I want to carry a tow strap, air compressor, shovel, jumper cables (aka, 'battery-buzz-box'), and I don't want all my stuff to be loose on the bed.

Yeah, that's kind of the same thought I had, only I was going to do what all the cool kids do and build a box in the bed. Unfortunately for me I still need to be able to fit my teenage kids back there for another couple of years.

Discovery 2 jump seats, EZ.

:flipoff2:

Could build 2 boxes, one for each side, that take up the space under each jump seat when they are folded down.

Jump seats are long gone, I have a Besttop fold and tumble in the back now. I feel it is a ton safer for my kids to be strapped in the back on the floor than to be strapped on the side of the rear wheel well!

I have one of those as well. Excellent back seat for young kids in a 40.

A sportkeg is what you need back there. Tasty keg beer after a long fly fishing excursion. PLus you get bonus "overlander" points.

I would do maybe a shelf up top inside you can securely put some things in it.

I do like the conferr box under the seat in the back. Can make it so it doesn't make the rear seat too high but tall enough to put tow straps/cables/parts etc.

In all seriousness, cleaning the plugs and cap really seemed to bring the engine back to life.

Not that it was struggling to begin with, but it definitely woke it up. It's a heck of a lot more responsive and has a bit of kick in the seat again.

Like chipping a diesel.
Do you have electronic ignition in it or still points? I tossed the points and put in a Pertronix and it was like a new engine. I used this on my '78 with the 75ish dizzy and F155 engine

I'm going to have tp pick your brain about this, sometime. As soon as I get my rear brakes done and the MC replaced os I can drive it again! LOL
Yeah, would love any info on what you did for steering and alignment. My steering wheel hasn't been centered since I bought it, and it's quite loose. The PO put in a PS setup from a tercel and I've got 33" Toyo MTs on it, so neither of those are probably helping. However, I can go 70 plus, if it's a clean open road with no traffic and I don't have the kids with me...

All Toyota electronic ignition from the 83 engine.

Overland kegs, and an overland deep fryer. You know, so you can have batter dipped chicken, Monte Cristos, something good to dig out of a wire basket that isn't too complicated to serve with hot sauce or confectioner's sugar while working all those controls on the Land Cruiser's dash, and floor.

there are those among us who can drive, drink beer and eat fried food while operating a 40 on road or off at the same time

All the time! Hell, that's a normal summers day here.
