FYI, the Exped MegaMat DUO 10LW is a perfect fit inside the AluCab. And also the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on.

Are you putting that directly on the floor of the tent or on top of the existing mattress?

I had a CVT anti condensation mat, and then the Exped directly on top of it. With the Exped ever so slightly deflated I was still able to close the tent with all our bedding.

It’s best to inflate the Exped right in the tent.

Does anyone happen to have the exact mattress dimensions of the Alucab mattress?

Bringing this back to life.. but how did you get yours to fit? We just bought one and it wasn't even close at the front.

Inflate it inside the tent; the mattress will adapt to the contour of the tent.

Running the stock mattress on my Gen 3.1, it is firm but as a back sleeper I am good. Looks like the Exped is popular 👍

I added a 1" foam topper on top of the stock mattress. Works great. I did replace my mattress in my camper with the Exped's

Yeah, I started just using expeds in mine.

I see the HEST double long is pretty sweet and fits in a Gen 3.1. Currently using one in the sleeping platform area inside the vehicle, very comfy. May end up going this route up top in the RTT as well.

FWIW I was watching Trail Recon on youtube and they had a JK all Alu-Cabed out with a fireplace, tent, and build out storage in the bed under the tent, all Alu-Cab, cool stuff, worth the watch.

I’m selling my 3.0 if anyone is interested. Located in NorCal Bay Area. DM me for details.

Romer how are you liking the tent. Looking at a 3.0 for my FJ60
sorry, just saw this. I like it. quick setup and tear down, was very comfortable with the 1" mattress topper I added. As a disclaimer I need to state I typically take my Kimberley Karavan and only use this in places I can't take it like the Maze

Does anyone know the manufacturer of the Alu-cab L-track rails on the Gen 3?

I am looking to add extensions to make the rails full length like on the Gen 3.1 but didn't see them avail for purchase on the Alu-cab website.

I am hoping to be able to shift the load bars as far forward on the tent as possible

Rather than trying to match the existing track bars, I bet it would be simpler to remove the current track bars altogether and install a new, full-length set from a manufacturer of your choice. Plenty of companies have similar products (FrontRunner, Thule, countless options on Amazon, etc.)

The alu-cab track rails are really on there with sealant and a thick coating of epoxy and paint over top of them and on the fasteners underneath.

It would be far easier to just cut some matching rails to length then bolt them on.

I had the same tent, and if I'm remembering correctly, the rails were simply riveted in place. It wouldn't be hard to drill out those rivets and clean up whatever sealant was underneath the track.

I took my rails off last year. Just Allen bolts with nuts on the inside with some sikafkex to seal. Super easy to take off. I cleaned everything up and resealed with sikafkex when I put them back. No issues. Could easily do that with any other comparable rail, if you wanted.
