Can confirm that the owlexpedition mount works well. Shame it's been out of stock for so long!

So as I was wiring up (after sitting on them for almost a year) my Ironman 4x4 driving lights because I actually had time to work on the LX today, I forgot that my positive terminal was looking fuzzy, but by sheer luck, the mailman came by around noon today and my new SDHQ terminals were in the mailbox! Just in time! Quality is nice, a little too nice for this rig, but I installed them without any real issue. Biggest thing you have to do is cut away the original negative cable away from the OEM terminal and use the supplied negative lug to reattach for a cleaner fit. I used my Milwaukee sawzall to do this (overkill, I know, but an excuse to use it was fine with me), and bada bing bada boom it was done.

I went DIY. $4 Roofing bracket from Lowes, modified, primed, painted, for mounting my Blue Seas ML-ACR. On/off switch for the winch mounted below it. All the extra positive battery cables are protected by buss fuses at each battery positive terminal, and anti-chafing sleeve. Can confirm that the owlexpedition mount works well. I was using Slee terminals, but I finally got tired of them constantly corroding and causing battery issues. They're now happily residing in the trash.Dumb questions:
1) is it ok to mix and match terminals?
I hate that there's a vertically oriented positive terminal and horizontally oriented negative terminal, and don't want to cut/refit the negative cable

I was thinking about using the positive terminal on this kit:
Marine
...and the negative terminal on this kit:
Military
Or is there an easier way to go about this? Like an adapter of some sort so I don't have to buy two different kits.
2) In these kits each terminal is labeled "(-)" and "(+)". Does it matter if I use one or the other on the black cable, so long as I connect it to the appropriate end of the battery? I'm presuming they're exactly the same except for the size of the opening that clamps the battery. Just asking because if I do end up buying the two kits above, at least I'll have a backup set for the future.
My main goal is just to have cleaner tight fitting terminal ends WITH covers (and not spending $150+).
Thanks!
Pretty sure you are referring to the old two piece units that was an extension on a military terminal and not the curren since piece ones.I was using Slee terminals, but I finally got tired of them constantly corroding and causing battery issues. They're now happily residing in the trash.
Ive been running these for the last few years on both my 100 and my 4Runner and never an issue. 3 sets all in totalPretty sure you are referring to the old two piece units that was an extension on a military terminal and not the curren since piece ones.

Yes, the old ones. If there is an upgraded version, not taking about that one. Thanks!Pretty sure you are referring to the old two piece units that was an extension on a military terminal and not the curren since piece ones.

I wonder why slee doesn’t make these anymore.I went with the military terminals (Amazon/Fastronix) and the old Slee terminal brackets.
I don't think they offer them anymore...I found mine from a guy selling on Tacoma forums.

They definitely look like they could be replicated. I don't know about gauge but I bet a good vice and some channel locks could take care of the bends.I wonder why slew doesn’t make these anymore.
I’m considering making them out of a copper sheet.
What gage is recommended here considering the bends?
Don’t have a band saw nor a metal bender, probably make it by hand, you know, like a caveman..
I too have used these in other cruisers/4runners. Pretty good bang for the buckI went with the military terminals (Amazon/Fastronix) and the old Slee terminal brackets.

@smokeysevin How does it look now, 2 years later? Looks like uncoated aluminum?.... if so aluminum oxide is not a great conductor for electricity and you would probably want to prep the surface when adding new connections.
