I thought Lexus only offered service info from any dealership. It was Toyota that would only give it with proof of ownership and only from that particular dealer.

Post 78 of this thread. What is the Lexus link? Last time I was buying my Cruiser was in 2007 and I physically went to the dealers.
Hey everyone! Great info here. Thank you all for sharing.
I'm currently in the market for an '08/'09 GX. I stumbled upon a low mileage 2008 and was hoping a few of you could take a look at the listing to make sure I'm not missing anything obvious. It's located about five hours from me, so I want to make sure I do my due diligence before I make the trip. I know the factory Nav and Mark Levinson is a drawback, but I don't plan on using the Nav and have no interest in upgrading the sound system, so I'm willing to roll the dice. I've looked for a month or so and can't find an '08/'09 without it.
Here's the link-

I already spoke to the dealer, worked out a deal, and put a refundable deposit down. I'm planning to make the trip on Tuesday.
Any insight will be greatly appreciated!
It looks really clean, but personally I would spend half as much on one with more miles.![]()
Maybe they will knock off a couple $100 if you un-bolt the chrome damage multiplier and leave it with them to put on the next one for a poser to buy.
That's some decent negotiating skills- congrats on the new addition. Love the color.Hey guys. I picked up the GX yesterday. Looong day of driving and negotiating. Long story short, there is was some rock chip damage on the hood around the grille, light rust on the undercarriage, and it has the dreaded drive shaft thump. Other than that, it runs great and body is very straight. I ended up buying it for $19,879 with a 3yr/36k Toyota/Lexus Platinum warranty. I figure if the hood is really bothering me, I'll have it painted on the summer.

Thanks! A lot of it was them knocking money off due to mechanical issues I noticed (and they confirmed) during the test drive. Things that I am going to have to address. The truck has a bad wheel bearing, a tick that the tech seemed to think was the exhaust manifold, and some of the electrics like seat motor and seat position memory didn't work. I'm pretty sure the warranty they ended up giving me covers all of that, but I didn't complain haha. The only caveat is I have to wait 30 days to use the warranty. I'll be out the cost to replace the bearing if it goes before then.
Yeah, maybe I'm reading the paperwork wrong. It says "axels and bearings; hubs" are covered, but I guess that's different than wheel bearings. Unfortunately, I won't get to find out. I'm having the bearing fixed tomorrow because it's getting so bad that it's affecting the steering. That's odd. I wouldn't expect wheel bearings to be covered under warranty (arguably a wear item), but hopefully they'll take care of it for you!
