This is from a fun wheeling trip today on some local trails with @NateMob, a friend, and my dad.

Pardon the interruption...

I brokeded some things!

Crazy kids and their drugs! A basic 3" lifted 4 Runner on 33s decides to wheel with a couple 3 linked rigs... one of which is on 40s!

My hat is off to you, my friend!

I'll un-interrupt myself now.

Front bumper still isn’t done, but whatever. Been going on trips. Other note.....going to cut the frame rails off the back and chop the gate, tub the wheel wells etc etc to actually fit 40s at stock bump and gain 11” of departure clearance. Should be fun. I’m bored so now to chop the truck more :grinpimp:

So how will you achieve this rear chop?
How will the tailgate hinge?
How will the rear body section be supported? @jcardona1 has been down this rabbit hole.

Main thing is the gate will now be fixed and not fold down. Im going to be using some 2x2x1/4” to make some new framerails with that will support the back.

Normally cut the chassis rails behind the panhard, flip them upside down and weld them back. This makes the rails continue up, rather than back down behind the axle.

These trucks are so difficult to fit a low suspension/large tires with their sheet metal being on the way.... Great idea you have here !
I have approached this departure issue on a different way by moving the rear axle close to 3” back. I had to reconstruct the rear passenger well to fit 42’s.
Looking forward for your next steps!

Loving it!

My truck is rusty, so seeing people hack up their trucks in places I have rust makes me sleep better at night. If it rusts too bad, I'll just cut it out!
