I'd keep the rubber bushed panhard and move the axle back an inch if it wont cause any rubbing issues. The extra cushion and isolation from the rubber is a very real benefit in my eyes.

I would have a rubber bushing one one end and a spherical joint on the other. That’s what I’ve run for years fr and rr and there is no NVH issue.

Those rubber bushings in the panhard are tiny, although what @nukegoat mentioned is probably the culprit.

3-link was awesome, but definitely need to figure out side hill stability. Hoping once I get better shocks that are actually valved for the 80 that’ll help some. But ideally need to figure out some sort of sway bar for the front that isn’t going to cost me a ton.

What are the link geometry considerations for sidehill stability on a 3 link?

Last trip for me to Moab I thought the Dobinson’s 4” Flexi coils had really improved sidehill stability.

We were sitting here on Seven Mile Rim spotting other rigs through the climb and @Andrew Bluemel was really uncomfortable where I felt fine, and I hate off camber stuff with exposure. We both run Fox shocks that should be similarly valved as they were all set up by Downsouth.

Now that’s the impressions of two different drivers, but the biggest thing I felt coming out of that trip on the Flexi coils was the serious improvement in how my 80 was on sidehills so that’s interesting to hear.

Yeah that was a werid spot for my cruiser. I don’t know if it’s worth adding I had no wheels spacers on and it all just felt very tucked in and with all the stuff I had in the back and spare tire on top I was very scared it felt like it was ready to flop. Maybe I was just getting over paranoid but it seemed pretty close. And typically I don’t think I freak out when stuff starts getting tippy this genuinely scared me though.

I know - it’s usually me getting really uncomfortable in tippy spots :hillbilly:.

With everything we ran in Moab, Tippy Spot on 7 Mile Rim was by far the worst feeling. Then you look at the pictures and realize just how stable you really were.

When gear installs go wrong. Somebody either forgot the loctite, or the torque wrench. Or both. Odds are the ring gear is not OK once you look at the threads.

Ring gear bolts backing out... seems like a bad install IMO
Whaaat?! You mean all of your bolts don't just barf out into a pile every time you go wheeling? I thought that was a pretty standard thing. Here I thought I was doing it right, but now I am starting to think that old lady might have been taking advantage of me. Someone should get to the bottom of this or I am going to suspect it was those meddling kids again and that damn dog!
