I disagree and on my 80 axle I didnt mess with stock steering geometry. More important than a flat track bar and drag link is a track bar and drag link that aren't fighting each other w/ respect to lateral displacement. The OEM setup is surprisingly safe in that regard. Once you start changing those things, getting it slightly wrong could have really annoying consequences for bump steer.

@ExpoMax - can you post your actual geometry? I'm in favor of open sourcing the geometry for others to be able to follow suit down the road.

Fair point - setting up the steering on these trucks can be difficult once you start changing the stock configuration. It was one of the biggest pain points of redoing the front.

Oh, and remind me what you did with your a/c drier?

I was able to bend my ac dryer all the way into the fender. Somehow still works awesome. I’ll get geometry posted up later today.

Wow, nice work. The first time I tried bending mine I broke a line. The second time I used a new line and just bent it enough to stay out of the way.

Ive had 2 sets of enduro joints now and I am sad to say you will be disappointed in their longevity. The urethane cup does not last. Grease makes no difference... and i know what youre thinking... "i will just rebuild them!" - i bought the rebuild kits too. And good luck figuring out how to replace the bushings while preloading them enough to get a snap ring in there.

I talk trash about them in my build thread I think, but they are garbage

And let your dad know his welds are looking a lot better!

Max welded this all himself, I was just there to help dissasemble/assemble. I kicked in a bit for the new welder too:), but yes, his welds are looking good!

Much better than yours!! And the hard ones on the frame look very nice

If anyone is curious this is how far the dobinsons coils can extend. My shocks are are also ~13.5in travel with the eye/pin adaptor. This is ~90% of droop.

Did you paint the coils or did Dobinsons get rid of the teal color?

I gave them a paint job....couldn’t quite bring myself to put teal coils on my truck.

I think they would have gone nicely with black. It grows on you.

Teal goes really well with green dirt sea foam :hillbilly:

Not to much has been happening to the truck the last couple weeks. However I have like 12 days to finish and seal up my rockers, mount my sliders and maybe get to redoing some of the welds on my rear bumper. But we’ll see. Have another Moab trip planned so it’s crunch time.

Today I got the exhaust taken care of. Full custom setup from the headers back. All inside framrails tucked high and tight. Sounds about same as stock.
