97' FZJ80 heated seat install with Toyota horizontal low/high switches

So it looks like my '97 LX450 does not have these plugs. There are two un-used plugs under the console. One only has 2 pins and the other has 10. Carpet is out so I know they are not covered. Is it possible the LX450 do not have this option?
Have my carpet out as well. 97 LX no plugs for heated seats. :(

@orttauq

I have never taken an LX apart, so I am not much help. But have you guys removed the center sub brackets? Or could you take a picture a little further out?
Looking at this picture I grabbed from another post(LX450 Center Console Removal?), I would try removing the grayish plate and see if they are hidden under there.

I read on here somewhere that the lx plugs are behind the dash

Given that the center console has the sub then being behind the dash would make sense. My dash is apart right now so should be easy to look.

Thanks for the larger picture... I am just trying to help, but are there any plugs under the gray plate that I circled in the red?
Or are they in the other red circle to the bottom left of this picture.

If not I guess maybe behind the dash would make sense. Sorry I am not much help. If you were close to Cincinnati I would come over and look around with you.

Not under plate; was out to install 800watt inverter where CD changer used to be (up for grabs if anyone wants it-do not know if it plays but it does load CDs)
The other plugs circled are for the security system.

Thanks, I have read through both of those threads. This is looking more and more like a no go on the LX. I do not find the plugs behind the dash or under the console AND JP-Carparts just emailed me that one of the Horizontal switches is no longer available; replaced in stock by vertical 84751-60010.

I have one more inquiry out for the switches to a JP OEM parts warehouse...will see.

I, of course, still have the option of after-market kits and wire from scratch.:(

What was the OEM application for the horizontal switch you're trying to track down? Might have better luck on the used parts market if they are discontinued.

Edit: If it's 84751-60030 you're trying to find, ToyoDIY indicates it was only used on JPN market 80 series Land Cruisers. Maybe start following up on HDJ81 partouts and see if anyone would sell the switch from a heated seat equipped truck?

84751-60040 Horizontal LH
84751-60030 Horizontal RH
84751-60020 Vertical LH
84751-60010 Vertical RH

Looks like the vertical switches are easy to find. JP-Carparts said in stock 7 days shipped from Japan but said this about horizotal:

"84751-60040 is built to order 1 month and USD 51.99."

"84751-60030 is replaced by 84751-60010, so this is vertical."

I haven't done this yet... but you need the pigtail that comes with either the vertical or horizontal switch to make it plug in play.

If the horizontal rear heater switch would accept the pigtail, then that would solve your problem of finding the correct orientated switch.
You would be buying the vertical switch for the pigtail, plug that into a rear heater switch, and then re-label that switch.

That could be a work around.

Post number 7 - good write up on how to wire by scratch. My seats are apart right now and I intend to replicate this post.

Got a reply:
Part numbers that have been substituted:

8475160030 ----> 84751-60010 (Vertical)

Parts out of stock with an unknown delivery date:

Dug around in my LX450 and came up empty for seat heater plugs. Can't say definitively they're not there but I dug around under the carpet and pulled half the dash, all to no avail.

I did find these two plugs, anyone have a guess what they're for? Tucked under the carpet just in front of the parking brake boot.

Finally got it all nailed down the other day. Those unused plugs are for the stock/port car phone. Found the power and ground for the phone (conditional to key on) tapped that into the aftermarket heater harness and spliced the OEM switches to the harness as well. Put in a Bluesea USB inverter in place of the 12v cigarette lighter and used the illumination ring to provide illumination to the switches.

Nice work, do you have a photo of the Blue Sea USB invertor before you installed it, or a part number? Also, how did you add light to the seat heat switches via the illumination ring?

Here's the link for the USB inverter http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Sea-Systems-Charger-Socket/dp/B0082CXEI8/?tag=ihco-20
They have a few different options, this one just seemed the cleanest. Had to slightly file the 12v socket hole to get it to fit. Just like the cigarette socket, the inverter is two poles, so I snipped the original wires and crimped on better fitting female quick disconnect fittings.

The illumination ring didn't fit the bluesea inverter, so I snipped it and split it to the two switches. I believe the lo/hi, green/amber lights are powered by the power circuit on the OEM switch, so illumination is only a factor when the headlights are on.
