Brent, if you have time, can you take a close up pic of the roof rack floor boards? Top view, angle view from the side, and the end of the boards, I want to see if its cast extrusions. If you can get them to my cell that would be super awesome 714-717-4213. Thanks!

It looks like what they use to put under the doors in office buildings, but those are expensive. Trying to find a solution for the floor boards.
Aluminum door threshold.... light but strong.

Lets get this thread back on track. What trails are we planning to hit on Saturday? I don't know the trails on this side of the mountain. I think we should split up into an extreme group for those with lift, sliders & lockers and a mild group with just one or two of those. My buddy and I will be coming up Saturday morning and would be in for the mild group.

That side of the mountain has Gold Mtn, Jacoby Canyon, Heartbreak Ridge, Pontiac Loop among others.

A nice run would be Gold Mtn from 18 to 3N16 then over to Jacoby with a lunch break in the shady area towards the bottom. Then cross 18 and go through Cactus Flats towards Heartbreak Ridge and Pontiac Loop (both optional). There is a road that will dump you out on the 38 close to the campsite.

I also went on a trail up through Onyx Peak with Chazz a few years ago but I think this may be closed now. Nice view of San Gorgornio.

Gold mtn. is a good intermediate trail with plenty of decent obstacles but nothing too extreme. John Bull is a little more advanced. I would say 35's, lockers, and sliders are almost a must. Gold mtn, Holcomb Creek, and Dishpan could be done with 33's and maybe one locker or 35's open front and rear. Sliders would be nice for all of those trails, but not a must if you are real careful. A tow strap and tow points front and rear are a must for those trails if you don't have a winch. I'm not real familiar any more with the mild trails/fire roads since I have not been running those for years.

Little more than a week away !

I plan to be at camp on Friday right around Noon. Since I have the reservation info, if anyone wants to show up anytime after Noon, that should be perfect.

Friday
- Arrivals anytime after Noon
- Happy hour starts at 5:00! Or sooner :)
- Everyone is on their own for dinner
- Campfire compliments of Brent

Saturday

- trail rides appear to be still up in the air. I am sure we will figure things out between now and then.

- Happy hour!
- Dinner will be potluck/family style
- Campfire compliments of Brent

Sunday
- Cleanup campsite
- Have a safe drive home

Does anyone need specific directions to camp or are we all good? If you google Coon Creek Cabin you should get all the info you need.

Don't forget your garage sale items....

Take NF-1N02 directly east and very close to Heart Bar Campground.

GPS for turnoff from Hwy 38: N34 09 43.8 W116 47 08.7

Can't be any easier now.....

Well, I'm bummed now, I have to cover the Robby Gordon Stadium Super Truck race at The Sand Sports Super Show in Costa Mesa. I really wanted to at least hit a trail run Saturday.

Have fun guys, I will just have to live through the after trip reports!

Bummer Dave....next time for sure!

I'm bringing tri-tip for the pot-luck. How many should I plan on feeding???

I think there are a couple of us doing tritips. So I thunk if you grab just a average size roast you should be good. I was going to do a tritip also but might change things up. Don't know.
