Hey.
So i thought i would try to get things squared away and start a new thread to begin planning for:
- Who is attending? Who will be parking at the campsite, who will need to park in the “overflow” area and what nights people will be attending.
- Swap meet items
- Saturday potluck
- Trail rides, fishing, etc

As it stands now, 21 "trucks" have expressed some form of interest in attending. (We will count the number of "people" once trucks have confirmed). Again and as the reservation states, there is a 10 truck and 25 person max. I am not sure how well (if at all) that is enforced but i believe there is an overflow parking turnout we can use. SOCALFJ confirmed that there is a turnout area just outside the camp.

So this is what i propose and feel free to chime in if i am off base or if there are any other ideas on how to do this….. I am going to go by order of PM’s I received and when people posted up as being interested in attending. Since we know there are 10 official parking spots at the campsite, the order of who posted/PM’d will determine the confirmed parking spots. From there we can figure out # of people, etc. I don’t think the total # of people will be a problem I think it will be the number of rigs. Also I don’t think the number of tents will be an issue either as long as the # of people is at or around 25 each night. (Again, I don’t know how well if at all this is enforced).

I compiled a list of PM’s and posts based on time/date stamps and put the following list in order. As people confirm and PAY, that will lock in the 10 guaranteed parking spots. Cost for the two nights is $149. So let’s say $15 per truck to confirm your spot (even if you are heading up for one night). If only one night you can figure things out with someone to buy your spot for a night and or just let them camp. Sound good? To me this was the easiest and fairest way to make this happen.

So that is the list. If someone finds a spot that will accommodate a larger group, I am all in and let us know. If not, this will have to do. Let’s give folks until Sunday 8/25 to confirm and pay (PayPal (as a gift) – seanpmcginty@gmail.com)). No pay or definite confirmation by then, your spot will be given to the next in line…Cool? If you know you will not be making it, please post up so i can adjust the list. thanks! (BTW – I really don’t like being in charge of this…)

If all goes well I think we can have most everyone camp but will have to park in the overflow area. Since I/we cannot confirm this, you will have to come up at your own risk as to having a place to camp/park or not. There is a lot of camping in the general area so perhaps that could be the backup for some folks.

Now onto the fun stuff…
Potluck! I figure we can be on our own for dinner on Friday and do a potluck for dinner on Saturday. We can also do a large group lunch on Saturday if we end up getting a lot of folks just up for the day.

Post up the cr@p you have and want to sell!

I guess that is it for now. If I missed something or am totally off here, post up and I/we can fix things.

Swapmeet Stuff

I will get this started:

- OEM dash diff lock switch - $20
- OEM JDM (i am told) rear hatch/cargo area dome light (there are threads on how to add this.) - $20
- Rover cup holder (there are threads on this). Grey in color - $25 (SOLD - to FJRANGER)
- pair of black 80 series mirrors. aftermarket. OK shape, little shakey. $20 for both

Also have tents and other stuff posted here....Prices are now OBO.

Frontrunner Flip Pop Tent - $50 at the this event. Brand new, never used.
Thule bars - I have 3 45" bars - $15 each - ok shape with a few small knicksin the rubber covering, but integrity of the bars is solid. These sell new for $80/pair. No end caps.

Potluck - will do a Poppy Seed Chicken main dish in dutch oven.

Sean - open fire allowed or charcoal? I can bring plenty of firewood from my golf club - free of charge wood to me.

I think fires are OK. There is a large group fire pit onsite. I will contact SBNF folks as the date gets closer and see if a permit is needed.


Potluck - I will do a tritip (smoked or bbq'd)

Ok - let me know because i can get all the free firewood my roof rack can hold which will be plenty for the two nights.

OK, cr@p...I should have explained better...my bad. The list of folks stating they wanted to attend was in numerical order by posts or PM's i received. As such, the first 10 folks have tentative dibs on the 10 parking spots at camp. If folks in the first ten back out, we will move folks up. Sorry, hope that makes better sense now. That said, Nguyen (socallove) i received your payment but i believe you are currently sitting at #15. Do you want me to refund you, hold onto it until you are for sure in or out, or ??? Sorry, just let me know brother.....Or if you simply want to donate to my drinking habit that is cool to!:beer:

Yes I have the fuel can holders. I am trying to figure out a way to use them on my trailer. More than likely won't use them...not sure. Speaking of trailers, are the sports long enough for a trailer or wide enough to deploy an RTT either on the trailer or rig?

By the way, I used your old Pinnacle lantern this past weekend...it's hella bright!

Hey Mark! Ya, don't send any money... if a spot opens i will certainly let you know.

That said, everyone is still welcome to roll up, roll the dice and see if they can park somewhere and still camp with us. You can park onsite and simply wait to see if a ranger or the like says something. Either way, i don't think there will be issues with the # of tents or people on site as i dont see more than 25 of us hanging around at any given point in time. if you decide to go this route there is obviously no charge at all for the weekend.

Hey....Not sure what you mean by "sports" being long enough?
Glad to hear the lantern worked well!
