Sorry. Let me clarify.. was in a hurry to work. Haha. So if I drive the car a few days… it will go into limp mode or after I let it sit for a few hours. Thought was a bad battery… replaced with new agm one. Like what others mentioned, maybe I need a new alternator for isn’t charging the battery…Sorry, I dont understand what you wrote. Can you reply again? So it will go a few days before going into limp mode or displaying a code?

I see a lot of people running the stock overflow setup and it genuinely baffles me.
I wasn't having issues until I traveled to high elevation. My car never overheated once, but when I stopped the engine I believe heat soak caused localized boiling, which caused the overflow tank to...overflow; then less coolant would be drawn in when it cooled down. I'm running the stock 13 psi radiator cap and stock overflow tank.
Those running with the stock radiator cap and overflow tank, are you having issues with coolant boiling over when you park and stop the engine? If you're not, what PSI radiator cap are you running?
I've already picked up an expansion tank from a 2010 Sierra and am trying to work out how I'll route the lines. It's fun that none of the hose IDs are the same. Expansion tank 1/2" steam port that needs to connect to the LS steam port 1/4" and FZJ80 radiator water by-pass 8mm/5/16". The lower expansion tank hose is 1" that will need to reduce to 3/4" heater line.

I first changed the radiator cap in Dallas, where I first experienced the not-overheating/boil over. It resolved it until I got to the mountains in AZ. Currently I’m running a week old 13psi cap.How old is your radiator cap? A friend experienced this with his 3rd gen 4Runner when we were at high elevation in the Alpine Loop. Turned out his radiator cap wasn't holding pressure like it should after so many years. A new cap fixed the issue.
