For Sale 82 and 81

I have an 82 and 81 truck for sale. 82 has power steering. Problems with 82:
Transmission pops out of first gear if not engaged. Transfer case needs cajoling to shift between 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive. Bed has rust and diamond plate welded over it. Welded in new floor pans.

81 has no problems. Govt truck and is in great condition. Trucks located in Chattanooga,TN. Both trucks run fine and have been driven 45 minute trips with no issues. First pics are of 82.

Sorry, but the OP is f-ING high or arrogant, or both.
Let me guess, the OP is a "body guy", not a "mechanical guy"... That's stupid money for a masked off paint job that still needs work.

What is up with guys sclepping SA s*** boxes hoping for ridiculous payouts?

What's your profit margin on this, 200%?

Profit isn't a 4 letter word, but greed is.

Sorry didn't read correctly. Also, I prefer talking price after you come see them. If you have a fair offer, I can work with you. I can tell you how much makes sense to me, I can't tell you how much you want to hear.

What does OP mean? If I told you I wasn't making money would that make a difference. I'm not an importer so maybe I got ripped off. I will sell you both trucks at exactly how much they cost me. Come to Chattanooga and we can do the math and you will see how much I am trying to make and since it is all about profit that way you shouldn't be too upset.

Also, just a general comment. If you ask for the price for something, why does anyone get mad. I still have trouble understanding this forum.
 
20 k is sky high on the 82. I agree.
These owners need to wake up from their dreams. I understand a nice fj45 is in the 20 range and up.but to pay 20 on a truck that needs a ton of mechanical work and body work, hummmmm no thanks.
There are 30 k trucks out there ready and beautiful. Why pay 20 for this headache ?
And as more and more fj45s come in from Costa Rica and Colombia, prices will come down. These trucks might be one of a kind in the States, but in other countries they are every where at super low prices. And yes I understand there is the import fee , but still cheap. These import guys buy these trucks between 4K and 7 k and want to make 10 k profit. They can keep them. The dollar is now super strong so you steal these trucks in south and Central America.

What is a reasonable price on the 82.
 
OP means original poster...
It sets off alarm bells when a person posts trucks for sale which have been resprayed by masking everything off, rather than removing them and they have mechanical issues.
We have a member of our club who brought a BJ42 from SA back with him... the paint looks good but the rest of the truck is a basket case, including mismatched rear springs, and hollow rear brake drums.
I'm sorry if you paid too much, but you are asking waay too much, IMHO.

My trucks don't have those problems. I can not speak for the paint job because I wasn't present for the process. I think if the trucks were completely disassembled for painting I could ask more. Mechanically they are strong and they both ride very very smooth given they are fj45s. You can always come and see the trucks to verify. Also like I said I prefer someone come see the truck before they come to a price.

No worries. You are entitled to your opinion and if someone is serious about buying the truck they can come see it and come to their own conclusions. I don't think you want to offer 10k but if you did, I would say thank you for the offer but I can't do 10k.
