Well made an offer on an LX for this project. It was one of only 2 Black LX450's I could find advertised in the US that were basically stock. It is 8 hours away so sight unseen but basically I only need the shell, the majority of the parts especially interior would just be spares for my current LX.

Fingers crossed, we will see what they say!

Yes extrude honing has been around for years, it does a lot of smoothing but it doesn't remove all that much material. When you are talking about port shaping extrude honing won't help much. But extrude honing is kind of the lazy guy's way out so I might go that way. lol

But yes gasket matching was already going to be done, Beno also has new gaskets for me to work with.

I did the port matching, little bit of polishing (in fact I'd call it more "de-burring) and poor mans lazy blueprinting. I use to do it on all my previous builds but I was out of the country too often to give it enough attention

Extrude hone wanted too much and I would still have to do the port matching. Blah.

On my head gasket job, I discovered the oem original intake gasket nearly matches the intake side of the head dead nuts and is only slightly larger than the intake manifold. The new toyota gasket has a bigger opening. At first I only checked ports with the new gasket and was bummed at the amount of mismatch. After checking the old one, I was pleasantly surprised at how close the oem match is. Something to keep in mind if you are port matching off the gaskets. Hard to see in the picture but the new gasket overlays the old

The way the 1fz-fe intake runs, a more opened intake floor might help anyway as opposed to a v8 where too much floor opening causes pressure drop

Did you ever figure out the coil pack setup to get rid of the distributor and go crank trigger?

Yes in my opinion they are the very best option in the 2JZ world, so it just made sense to pressure them on the 1FZ...

Plus like I said in my other thread when I started talking to Hypertune months ago, this will make it much easier to run an air to air intercooler since it puts the intake inlet on the opposite side from the turbo outlet.

Well that isn't my exact manifold, just an example of the quality they put out. I have asked for mine to have direct nitrous ports... ha.

Well it isn't really for the rest of you. You're just lucky it is what I want. lol

So ATI has an option where you can add a crank trigger wheel shell to one of their dampers. And I have crossed a Ford damper to work on the 1FZFE so it might be possible. I haven't reached out to ATI yet.. And I know that Ross has an option of adding crank trigger to their dampers as well and they have a 1FZFE damper. SO we will see.

Yep I know, pretty stupid. But when Racewarz happens I want to be ready! lol.

Actually it would just be spray to spool, but I don't think spool will be an issue, I just don't know with this motor and size of turbo as it is literally 2x the size of my current turbo, and I feel like I could have actually gone a little larger. Maybe GTX4508 instead of GTX4202, just don't know if the flow will be there with the 4202 to hit my goal. But I have already spent $3550 on the 4202 and Tial compressor housing so it is going to be what gets used.
