Agreed but I'm at 335k on my original trans. It still feels like, I flush it...non regularly

So its nice to have a plan of action if that time comes.

Buy OEM transmission and do a shift kit.

"better" isn't always better.

In your case if you don't need the upgraded clutches, the harder steels, billet accumulators, etc all youre going to do is be adding more harshness to your shifts, more noise and less service life.

Kind of like the old Longfields. They were very strong but wore faster

Hell, a Wholesale Automatic's valve body alone is $1300 so $2700 to have a fully rebuilt, bad ass'd trans is

Definitely interested to see where this goes. I have an A343f with extreme valvebody and torque converter from west coast cruisers. Interested what you'd think my power limits would be there if I go for more power than the TRD SC setup.

I only have my previous stock drivetrain 94 to compare it to but it's a world of difference. Some might call it overkill but they probably haven't driven the setup to realize how much of a difference it makes for DDing.

The shifts are quick, yet smooth. The downshifts happen in fractions of seconds compared to whole seconds of a stock setup. No loss of power, rev, and lunge once the tranny finds the gear.

@80BajaBound originally had it done. I bought the setup off him. And I love it.

Yep. The Wholesale Auto valvebody is nothing more than a $130 shift kit that they install and liberate you of $1400 more dollars. Get the transgo kit, new valve body gaskets do the work yourself and it is the same thing. The torque converter is a nice addition, they bend the fins to give you a little more torque, but I don't find that to be the problem with my current setup.

The difference between the Supra setup and a wholesale valve body is HUGE! ATF Speed uses a new billet sprag, billet accumulators, new clutches and steels both are upgrades for this power level and they do the valve body work.

In @NLXTACY 's situation it is just time for a rebuild. You can only increase the clamping force so much when you have clutches and steels that are worn. Going to a new OEM with shift kit would be a huge change even to a trans with a shift kit and 335k.

Yep. The angle of the fins adjusts the stall speed.

Like I said there is nothing that special about their stuff, it is just way over priced.

Their extreme valve body kit that they advertise as holding 2x power and costs what $1700. Well I am proof the transgo kit holds 2.3x more power and it was $135.

That is the price on their A340/341 transmissions yes, it is not Land Cruiser prices haha. We will see if all the parts work in the A343 transmission and if they do, I can't imagine the price will be any different.

Answer depends. lol.

If you are using a used block and head that has to be milled to get flat surfaces. 8.5:1, because decking the block and head will raise your compression.

If you are going to use a new head and new block and then clean up the combustion chambers, basically slightly enlarging them it will lower your combustion ratio.

So for me, I ordered the 10:1 pistons. I am going to clean up the combustion chambers on the head, I am using a 1.5mm head gasket and will probably end up right around 9.75:1. It is all just educated guess until you actually measure your combustion chamber.
