Hey @GW Nugget
Any idea what the difference between the 75mm Intermediate front spring and the 70mm patrol coil? That would be the key difference between a 75mm intermediate and a 50mm HD lift, right?

Here is some 75mm HD AC7511 rear on left & 50mm AC5300 Intermediate fronts on right.

In this picture of Woodys 80 with front Patrol coils if you zoom in, I count way over 10.5 more like 13 plus...

I am wondering if you could have taken these lines with the RTT? Or would the extra weight up top make the cruiser too tippy? Reason i ask is I have a Tepui Autauna Ruggedized RTT and 2x now i have had to be winched from a friend to keep from rolling, both times slid on loose dirt into off camber situations. I am trying to figure out what needs to change, hoping it is not ditch the tent.

I came across this thread the other day, it has some good info about the Slinky suspension, I learned a couple things...
I will extract this when I find time then add it to the Compiled thread.
Enjoy

Could anyone shed any light on if we shouldn’t or can’t run the 2.5 shock with the 50mm springs?

I am on the fence with trying to use Kings shocks with the slinky coils vs just getting the icon kit but I don’t want to lift more than 50mm. The stage 3.5 kit come with the 2.0 shock and I read a few posts about people complaining they don’t like the 2.0 shock over a 2.5. I just don’t want to spend money twice on a lift.

Woody has a 50mm HD kit with 2.5 shocks.
I want to say they are Stage 4 but @Box Rocket would know the exact details or Woody would know.

These are marked left and right and I am assuming that is for the RHD AUS market vehicles. Is it the same as the OME kits where they should be reversed when installing on a LHD vehicle? I.E. should I install the left marked spring on the right and vice versa?

I installed them as marked... result was zero cruiser lean.

Personally, since you have a bit heavier weight with the diesel and some additional weight from other mods, I'd recommend making the jump to the 2.5 shocks. The 2.0 is a great shock but can be a bit under-damped for a heavy rig. The 2.5 Slinky shock with CDC has 10 adjustment settings (1=soft, 10=hard) and the 2.0 is roughly the equivalent of a setting of 4. Personally, I have found that a setting of 6 is the sweet spot for me on general "overland" driving offroad. If I really start pushing the rig hard I'll bump it up to 8 and have even run at 10 a few times if I'm likely to get airborne. The adjustability has been awesome for tweaking the dampening for different loads or conditions to keep the truck flatter in corners and smooth through the whoops and corrugations.

I know it's possible and quite common to mix/match shock brands with different brand coils etc and in many cases can be an excellent solution. But wherever possible, I find using a complete suspension system that is designed to work together nets the best results (unless going full custom components and tuning). SO, personally I'd stick with Stage4 Slinky shocks with Slinky coils rather than mix/match Slinky/King, or Slinky/Dobinson, or Slinky/OME etc etc.

Yeah, I did too, but I've got lean. I'll give it a while to settle and see how it goes.

Were you sure to get the measurement on totally flst ground? I, first tried in my driveway and got measurements that were .5" off. Drove into the garage and it measures perfect. How far off are you?

Haven't even measured yet. It was too damn hot when I finished and I just wanted to take a shower and be in AC. But, just eyeballing it, I could see the lean. My driveway is very flat, so I'll measure tonight. It's too tall for the garage anyways:meh:

You have to let the coils settle in a bit, mine took over a week. Also the coils a marked LH & RH rather than the confusing Driver & Passenger side as per OME.
