1996 Lexus LX450

I was pondering the idea of having something for the 80 series guys, and hijacking the idea from the 100's and 60's about a registery or picture album in the sticky section. So...here goes, hopefully we'll get it moved to the sticky.

1. Year and model: 1995 LX450

2. Name of owner: Wick
3. Name of rig: It will be whatever my two sons start calling it
4. Mileage: 70,000

6. How the truck is used: Parked, or it should be! It’s in NC and I'm in Afghanistan. I just bought this thing and haven’t got to drive it yet. It will be a few months before I get the chance.

This is my 1st post; if it belongs somewhere else I haven’t found the location. Redirect me if necessary. I know some forums can be strict about these things.

Congrats on the rig Breacher36 and welcome  thats a kick@ss creation you have there. Toyota Owner Mag should do a write up on your rig I'd like to hear more about it like does it run the stock drivetrain or did they drop a 5.7 in it :D

Breacher36 that rear bumper is SICK! I would love to rock that on my 80. Can't wait till you get back and beat on that thing.

Thanks to everyone, for the warm welcome. This forum is much friendlier than some of the tactical forums I've been around.

Volunteer, I didn't go for the 5.7 option. I couldn't justify replacing the lightly used, stock drive train. We will see around 150,000 miles or so.

Breacher, I think a detailed report when you return would be cool to see - and alot more pictures! Looks like taillights from a Tundra - gives it an updated look for sure.

And, thanks for serving our country

1. 1997 LC "Collectors Edition" :) Factory Lockers
2. Bob
3. The Crusher
4. 158,000
5. Pretty much stock except for the PIAA lights. Looking to do more.
6. Not used for much right now. Will be used to haul the jet ski out of the lake and maybe some ski trips over the winter and ???

Bought last week in NJ, originally from MA. Slight rust in a handful of places, mostly touched up - will be working on getting rid of whatever I can.
The chrome guards are a little much for me, but I'll live with them for now.

Keeping it at the weekend house for now. Interior is really nice with 2 tone leather seats, pretty much perfect except the whole interior could use a good scrubbing.

Also looking for a good mechanic to do a baseline servicing on it in the NYC or NE PA area. Any recommendations appreciated.
I'll be ordering the FSM in the next couple days for some late night reading.

So far its a fun toy, will look to do some mods as soon as I figure out which are appropriate - no serious wheeling around here that I know of. Anybody know if the Michelin LTX tires any good in light mud/moderate snow?

Thanks to all the folks who post here. This forum has been invaluable so far.
