trailer 4

last group....of more stuff.

This is my setup for now.... I might get a oil burner tow monkey in the future but for now the 6.0 gas 2500HD will have to do, not that its bad or anything, I 'll just have to see what my choices are later on..

What kind of mileage do you get pulling the 60 with that 6.0? I really want to make one of the runs to the cove sometime. It seems like I've missed at least 3 chances to go because of work or other ailments.

flat ground loaded maybe 9-10mpg in the hills 7-8mpg. truck by itself maybe 15-17 hwy...in town maybe 12mpg.

I'm headed out to Jasper, TN this morning...

That's not bad. My Tundra depends 100% on how fast you run. If I keep it around 65 I can get about 12 on flat. I'd guess its about 10 in the mountains. I average 17 when I drive it (mostly highway) and it gets 14.5 maybe 15 if my wife drives (mostly city). Have fun at the Cove! Maybe I'll make the next one...

Sam you can join us at Choccolocco ORV next weekend . We can meet up in Warner Robbins .

I actually saw the thread where you guys were talking about going. I wish I could but actually I'm heading down the other direction. We are going to Orlando that weekend. I appreciate the invite. Maybe I'll be able to make the next one.

Looking good Elbert. I like the front mounted tool box and having 2 spare tires.

Hey,

Thanks..one of my friends has a few machine shop tools and we kind of rigged up a pretty good mount for the tool box. Its not going anywhere, plus I can lockup my crap there.

this trailer had no spare tire mounts and so I took some ideas from some other folks and got my other friend to make them for me.. He also built the stow-able ramps.

I also added some lights to the fenders so I had a clue wihere the trailer was at night.

After all of the above I've got it about where I want it. Your trailer is nice. I'll ride with what I have until its time to get rid of it and I think the next trailer will be a goose neck.

Yeah that is a nice trailer. It's funny you mention a goose neck. I was just thinking about that the other day. If I ever get rid of the one I'm getting ready to buy it will be for a goose neck.

Are you going to the Coal Creek or Golden Mountain ride in November? Just wondering if I will get a chance to see the trailer in person.

I plan on doing the TN group ride at coal creek...early Nov as I recall.

Yep. Same weekend as the ACC ride at GMP. I'm going to the ride with them since I co-sponsor most of their stuff. I'll check it out at the next one. Coal Creek at GSMTR next year probably. By then I'm pretty sure I'll have a trailer though. :D

Ya'll should hit the Southern Cruiser Crawl at Hot Springs this weekend...

I just sold my 18' with twin diamond plate runners, open in the middle (black trailer) for a 24' triple axle that I can put both 40's on (red trailer) or course I had to get a different tow rig....

I bought and ordered my trailer strait from the mfg. Its a Parker 20ft x 82", rated 10,400 with two 5200lb axles, wood deck. I cut costs down and didn't go with a dovetail. I kick myself when I have to tow a car because it sits too high to drive on and I wish it was 24ft. I tow quite a bit with my F350 and I have learned that no matter what load I pull from backhoe's, dump trucks to my 40 on it I run a weight distribution hitch with sway control and I have the wheels and tires balanced. A 10k trailer has been enough for my needs. If you need more than a 10k I would go with a gooseneck.

T He was behind me towing my truck on a Uhaul trailer with a Sequoia (like an 05) and he was really struggling on the long hill climbs. I just down shifted the Tundra and pulled the hill like a champ. :grinpimp:
ah so that was your truck behind the sequoia i pulled up the hill at golden mountain this year.

Why would you need a 24' for one car?

Yep. The tan bobbed mini is mine.

Why would you need a 24' for one car?

My silverado ss that I drag race is 19'5" so there is no room for anything once its on the trailer.

Full sized double cab pickups, old cars, etc.. Also there is the option to put an ATV or two on the trailer along with the 40.

I fit my 2000 f350 crew cab long bed on my 18 ft trailer just fine. Quads or motorbikes are not a single car. Even with that, i could have put multiple motorcycles in the need of the truck.. :meh:

have you towed your cclb 1500 miles one way? To keep the trailer balanced my ecsb chevy hangs over about a foot past the trailer. Its a sport/show truck so I dont haul anything in the bed.

i like the longer trailer.
a troopie is 17' and the longer trailer allows for more angle to where i like to hook onto.
plus the longer trailer has the larger axle, tires and brakes
if a shorter trailer works for you, excellent.
