I didn't see anything wrong. They yak too much for me. If you are pulling the dizzy on an engine that ran - put it on TDC#1. Look where the rotor bug is pointing and the body of the unit. Then see where the rotor bug points as you pull the dizzy. Next look down and see where the slot is. Putting it back in will be much easier if everything lines up the way you took it out.

It did run. But I pulled the distributor out almost two years ago, rotated the crack several times inspecting the cylinder heads. Only other engine I have done this on was an older small block and I remember having the dizzy pointing at the #1 cylinder not just before #4.

But based on this video it is exactly how I have it setup att

Ok this has been a while. Closing in on the finish line. I went to install my driveshafts and noticed they need to be compressed. But all this grease is coming out the yoke so I’m assuming I need new yoke seals?

Also this is super weird. New springs. As you see the shackle angles are very different. Pin to pin the pas side is 1” shorter than driver. And is pulling the axle forward on pas side…

Idk if they will wear in? If I should swap springs
Driver side has the +which should indicate driver side correct. Oh unless these were for a driver side right setup hmm. Bought of FBM😬

No, there's just too much grease in them. Let the excess squeeze out when you compress the slip joint.

Meant also to say, you can unscrew the zerk and the excess grease will come out of that hole.

Any chance you have one front on the rear?

This won't affect it but your shackles are also upside down.

It appears the overload spring is on both, which assumes you have them in the rear correctly, but I'd definitely measure them off the truck to compare free camber and pin to shackle side and pin to fixed side to find out what you're dealing with.

Sometimes it also just has to settle in, but above is the only way to know for sure. When comparing off the truck, if one has more free camber (depending on how much) It is best to put that on the driver side.

Planning on taking them off and checking.

Then I can flip my shackles also 😉
