Good deal, I know '78s and my non-original '75 are different, but here is how I have the cap vented. Filtered air comes in from the red filter ('75s didn't have the tube through the firewall) and the air filter housing is the low vacuum source to vent the cap. Ported vacuum from the carb base runs the primary vacuum advance and my secondary is capped.

I think the later models like yours had a VSV connected to the intake vacuum that controlled distributor venting, but not familiar with that system or how it would look once de-smogged.

Ahhh, I see what you mean. Time to buy some vacuum line to get them re-routed properly👍

Here is the mishimoto radiator after two coats of Eastwood radiator black.

I had to soak this pipe in hot water to get all of the oem labels off, but it looks great next to the original pipe.

Misc. refinished parts ready to go back on

I was able to drop the radiator in and fasten down the rest of the hose clamps. All it needs now is a new bvsv before I can add coolant, and the air cleaner to be refinished.

Two more weeks before I can get it registered at the dmv!

Great video and progress. What is the part number for the replacement front "Toyota" grill emblem?
Thanks.

Did you take the carb cooler apart? I'm trying to figure out how the fan comes of to remove the motor on mine

I didn't take the fan out of the housing, but there is a nut on the end of the shaft holding it in. It should come right off from there if you take the nut off, and then there are three phillips securing the motor to the housing 👍
