Need an assist from the distinguished forum.

Of the 5 bolts that hold the T-Case and Trans together (total of 5) Three (#1) are of equal length, #2 and #3 are shorter but unequal in length.

I know where the #1 bolts go, just unsure about #2/3. Can anyone give me an azimuth check as to which goes where?

Not in the Body chassis FSM or the SOR Transmission FSM.

Thanks in advance.

One step up - one step back.

Though I'd knock out a couple small projects on the Mule. Started with some Dielectric grease to the headlights.

Then I switched over to the turn signals. I've wanted to add a set of "boots" to the bases. All good until I removed the left turn signal and the base fell apart in my hand. Pretty sure it was one of the "aftermarket" lights I'd cannibalized 'way back".

I'll be looking for a set of buckets or pedestals over in the classifieds.

I know this is a sophomore level question and I'm hoping that one of the more enlightened, elevated, astral plane guru's of the tech Universe will chime in and lend a hand.

PIC added of what I think is the correct orientation...

Take off the PTO side cover and look there. Those two go in there.

Roger, that's a good copy. PTO side cover is off and I know the two short bolts go there. Just can't figure out which on goes where?
(REF: The enclosed diagram ^^).

I guess I have a 50/50 shot...

Measure the depth of the holes they go into. It may become evident what goes where.

Okay check out this #2 is the longer bolt. If you run that part # it has a pic.

ROG- I tried that. Granted gingerly at best. Each went about the same distance. I didn't want to go Neanderthal on it without knowing the proper location. Maybe I'll clean out the threads and try again if a Jedi doesn't come forward with the "word".

@knuckle47

It's the bottom latch. You can see the groove worn into the lasp. Can be fixed. These driver side latch's are crazy hard to source for some reason.

I remember that latch from my 74…and that was 48 years ago…. You always had to release it to move the tire or there was no way to lift the rear hatch !

thanks again

.... We well-seasoned ^^^ folks need to stick together. Happy to help you out if I can. I think I have a spare bottom piece as well. I'll need to sort through a box er two to find it though.

I have a bunch of old photos from the ‘74 and some crazy off road adventures thru the logging roads of northern Vermont. I will dig them up and see if anything stands out. I do remember my friend flipped his truck on its side…heading into a lake to rinse them off

A little elbow grease and the power of purple...

The top is off and at elbow grease level. I'll hit it a couple o' times to take off the 1st layers of neglect. Probably cut and buff it later and add some wax.
