And figure out how you are going to explain to your wife you and your 40 full of co-eds, the next day.🙄
Totally not my fault….😉 That ole mule has a certain diamond plated charisma…

I replaced some of the “rubber bits“ in the early stages but, neglected some of the smaller “stoppers”. So, trying to replace some of the grommets, plugs and fording material for future water ops. I picked up a generic kit sometime in the past that I used for the doors and an errant mystery hole in the dash.

@ToyotaMatt had the tank sending unit service access cover and the tank service plug as well.

Working on some functionality and my pre-execution checklist. The Mule is fitted with a direct drive on the T-case vice the magnetic/diaphragm type shifter. The original components are still attached to Mule at this point. So, I'm rounding up as many replacements as possible before the transplant IOT speed things up a bit prior
to D+1 (-ish). That is assuming I don't run into issues cannibalizing the remaining parts..

The Chassis / Body FSM is pretty straight forward, and this is essentially a Chunga proof assembly. Shout out to @orangefj45. Parts came cleaned, bead blasted and ready for assembly.

Assembled and test fit sans gasket for functionality. Good solid positive click.

Glad it worked out!!!
Thanks for sending business our way.

Taking stock now for some additional pieces, parts and accoutrements. I'll hit you back later for a run down. Thanks again!

Adding the new temp sending unit and adapter. Just a side-by-side comparison of the old and new. You can see the steep shoulder on the original adapter and the longer "probiscis" of the old sending unit.

Adapter mounted. @ToyotaMatt for the adapter.

Big day in the garage. Temp sending installed. No test flight yet. I need to order up some “Yoda Red” cool water, roll the Mule over and give it a burp before a full system check.

It is “Honey Doo Season” in the Mountain State and the Mrs bought an extra tag. So, In between doing the fetch and step shuffle and dodging #7 shot, I hit the new “42” with a coat of satin black. Why, I’m not really sure….

Because, why not.

7th shot? 😳

#7 bird shot will take the feathers off but won’t do any permanent damage..🙄

This is why I’m starting a marital advice thread in chit chat.

Here, in the hollowed hollows of Appalachia, nothing pegs you as a future love interest like being shot at by your prospective partner. #7 shot means “ I’m interested”, OOO buck means move along…It just boils down to simple mathematics. Kinda like testing the pre-load on your knuckle. You just know when it’s right.

😂 Oh good not kovid related. Out west we use #7 for quail, #5/6 for pheasant, #3/4 for ducks, 0/00/#2 for geese, and 000 for the bad guys, all 12g.

Cowboy hats 🤠 are for the girls.

More rubber bits coming in.

Trying to replace the low hanging fruit as the opportunity presents itself. UV, heat, salt and general abuse and mayhem has taken its toll over the years.
