oof. Just found this thread and had high hopes for you.
I would love to tackle that project but I am certain what I could afford isn't near what it is worth to you.

Hope you can change your mind and find a way to dive in but either way, sounds like you are still married.

The challenge is getting it to you…

If there's an advantage to splitting things up and @RevISK would like to lighten his load for the drive home I would be interested in the 8274, bumper and roll bar....could probably swing the drive down south.

Can't afford an entire Divorce Cruiser myself. 🙂

Who am I kidding? It has been over 10 years since I bought this 40. Might be time to sell it off... Then maybe put those funds into my 74... ;)

Anyone within a reasonable drive of San Luis Obispo, California interested?

Having not done any work on this, I'm not 100% certain what is missing, but some things are, even though the PO said it was complete when I bought it. No rain gutter or dash pad for certain. One of the door cards was damaged but the vinyl is okay. Would include the brand new OEM fenders and the sill plate repair piece. I would swap out the tan seats that currently are in my 74 and put the grey ones back in (so the tan ones go with this sale). I did have the headrests professionally matched to the tan vinyl. I want to say the bell housing is a 3 speed one vs. 4 speed also. Hood was tweaked in one corner when it went airborne on the drive home. Gas tank? Hmm... I had done an inventory on things a LONG time ago, but no way I can remember it now lol. Oh unrestored 8274 winch would be included also.

Been stored inside a shop since the day it was purchased. Anyone have any thoughts on the value of this?

10 years, you're just getting started. I have a 40 that's been following me around for 30 years. I figured i wasn't getting any younger, so I got it going a few years ago. It's been a blast. Looking at today's prices, I figure i gotta smokin' deal.

I have one that quietly waits in the corner. I think it’s been 10 years as well.

And I’m hoping to send my 74 to @orangefj45 ‘s Land Cruiser resort and spa this summer for some nice upgrades… ;)
If the stars align, maybe I’ll get to contribute.

What are your plans for the ‘74?

Well I have hopes but they’re all pretty expensive I’m certain so we shall see… 5 speed? Terrain tamers? Dakota digital? Finally finish the AC? Oh and rear brake job. We’ll see what the boss allows. :slap:

You might ask Georg about re-gearing instead of a full blown 5-speed swap. The H55 is an interesting beast and doesn’t solve all problems out of the gate. My 4 speed with 3.70 gears is more pleasing to drive than the 5 speed w/ 4.11 for instance. Apples to oranges but a thought.

Brakes and suspension would be first in my opinion.

Thanks! I’m definitely considering having the gears changed out also. I have rubber overdrive now (33’s) and have seen doing 370s is nice (I don’t wheel this thing fyi).

I installed the OME suspension awhile ago, but having read all the positive reviews on the TT’s it is a compelling thought…

H42 + 3.70 + 33” tires is a great combo. Wheels just fine for moderate use.

Its funny I keep seeing this thread. My cruiser is also a divorce cruiser, but in a different way. My cruiser helped me get over and threw a divorce. Just makes me remmember, when I see the thread pop up.
