Got the pressure plate, clutch, flywheel and bellhousing off. The pilot bearing is shredded! Just a bunch of bbs and a rusted remnant of the inner race. I was looking forward to trying out the bread trick, but looks like I'll have to go the carriage bolt or slide hammer route. Got my eye out for a cheap engine stand...

Uhh, so there was some "scope creep" today. Didn't intend to rebuild the t-case but I was in tear down mode. Kind of like Ricky Bobby in autograph mode...

After thought for me, wish I had painted all the alum. parts, while I had it apart. Light gray maybe, stays looking good for awhile longer.

I'm not sure on Alum. paint, but I would think you could top coat with any good oil base paint. I'm useing Rust-oleum Smoke Gray on my pto winch.

Are you serious???
Is that real beer? Too bad I don't drink beer, but that is worth getting just for when we take the Pig to the drive-in movies!
Where can I get some?

It looks like it is a Piggly Wiggly line of beer!

Wow! I hope they make a root beer!
Would you send me some? Looks like you can only get it in SC...

Yes, it's Piggly Wiggly brand beer, although it's actually contract brewed by Thomas Creek out of SC and relabeled for Piggly Wiggly. I know you can buy it in the lowcountry (coastal GA/SC) but I'm not sure where else. I'm an occasional homebrewer and beer judge and I'd say it's a very solid beer. I'm not sure about shipping beer out of state, but I can pick up a coozie with the Pig Swig label for you if you'd like. I think they're about $5 or so

Any recommendations on paint for aluminum? I'm planning on using Rustoleum Professional Aluminum Primer, but not sure on topcoat. Also planning on doing the same for the intake manifold and valve cover

I'm thinking that a good cleaning, then a clear coat, looks best with aluminum parts...

Looks great. I just did the same motor tranny swap to mine. I sent my cam to delta for the $120 dollar grind. It seems to run great, I am not an expert, but if you have the head off you might as well get the grind done. I had the KC grind done to mine.

The pig has found a few home. It will be the replacement body for a rusty 77 w/SBC in Alabama. Sorry to see it go but there was no way I had time for it. I still have the drivetrain. I'd like to finish the t-case and 2F rebuild and go from there - maybe find a 40 with a tired engine and slap a newish 2F in it...
