Wiring.
So glad I started all this when I was working on it the first round.
I started off installing the seat heater switches into the CCOT console. These things come with a ridiculous harness and there is really no good way to run power to the console without going under the truck so there I went. Got the spare wires hidden nice under the console
Lots of looming and zip tying and cleaning as I went. I’m down to just a few lights that don’t work at this point. Sniper is mounted. Dakota is mounted. GPS module is not synchronized yet because no signal in the shop and I’m not backing it out and losing my AC tonight until it cools off
I think, other than some factory wires I need to keep out until I get all the lights working this is the final layout of the engine. I need to source a air cleaner cool air horn at some point.

Great test drive this morning. Got about 40 miles on it then the owner came out and put some on as well.
Steering is nice and tight. Engine pulls nicely.
Just need more time with wiring. Letting it cool down now in the AC

I’ve worked out all of the electrical bugs but I don’t have headlights.
There is no power at the foot switch.
I can send power with my power probe through the switch there and the lights come on.
I have a 4 prong headlight switch.
If I prove the harness end of plug I can send power through it and turn on the marker lights but not the headlights.
It’s a late 71 probably considered a 72. Of course it’s it’s own year harness and my diagrams all lie to me.
Last item. Stumped. Where is @Coolerman when you need him? 😬
Edit. Talked it through with Jason. He bets the wires between the switch and the dimmer switch are roasted since the PO had the wire ties in there. I’ll run new wires tomorrow and see.

I dug out a couple more today in the back
and forgot to take a picture.
Same thing has happened to my 40.
I got the lights working awhile back I took it out for a drive turned on the lights and nothing!
The brights work but no regular headlights.

Just stumbled on this glorious thread.
As the owner of a 70, I've been trying to figure out how to mount Scheelmann seats. Thank you. To be clear, what did you use on the driver's side/toolbox? Looks like a standard corbeau bracket mounted on OEM feet fabled for the bracket?

Correct. The Corbeau is 13” wide runners and Scheel-Mann is 18”. They just fit on the Corbeau bracket.
That sets your height to shoot for on the passenger side. We used the Corbeau and some later model curved pieces but it could be done with square tube

Got the lights working. Wire was good but the headlight side of the switch is bad. I made a pigtail and now the parking lights and headlights are all on the first click of the switch. Temporary until I find a good 72 switch.
Of course they make new up to 9/71 and 73 up but like the blinker switch on the column the rest is NLA

Spent about 1/2 a day messing with little stuff.
Got the GPS speedo going and racked up some miles.
Hood pins are dead. I tried to get one out to put @SMG pins but can’t and if I remove the hinges I’ll further wreck his paint. Leaving it for now. He plans on getting some touch up work done so we fix then
These late model hood pads help a ton with the rattling hood. Bandaid
Lined the 1/2 doors with trim. The pins are shot and they rattled all to hell. No more.
Finally, added a sticker to the air cleaner. I think it also came from @SMG

I always like to summarize these builds so people have an idea what it costs to do these types of builds.
Usually I’m closer to 60% parts and 40% labor but this one had some really high end parts on it so parts were a bit more.
Parts - $43,275 this includes engine build labor and Wizard fab
Labor - 168 hours
All this on top of a seemingly nice, undrivable truck. The only thing I did not touch were the axles as they had just had disc brakes recently installed.
Adds up quick.
Thanks to all that followed along and the vendors that made this one possible, I know I mentioned them as parts went on.
