what amazes me is that the mirror in the bar was intact - I could so see a bar fight going down right there :hillbilly:

those are my favorite scenes in the movies :hillbilly:

Hi all!!

Great pics--looks like you all had a great trip!! I am still amazed that some of you went in and out in one day!

The last time we went into the area from Mammoth we took the route that bypassed carpet hill(recently locked off). In looking over the hill from the bottom, we weren't certain whether we should even try with open diffs and so we did not So did all of you have at least one locker?(or not). I guess that if some of you went open, I shouldn't be such a wuss!!

BTW, was the blazer/jimmy that was in the group the same one that I saw in pix of the jeep tour that did Pinal Mtn./Devils Canyon the next day?

Ernie

I don't believe I used my lockers at any point on the trail. You should be fine with some good clearance and a lot of time.:meh:

 is right! If you look closely, there is even a wisp of flame coming out of it's nostril!

BTW, I got the blown tire warrantied by Discount Tire in Fountain Hills this morning in a record 36 minutes (including free tire rotation) - brand new BFG KM2, only had to pay for the new warranty certificate and $15 installation :D

Lots of really cool pics!

Thanks everyone for coming out. What an awesome weekend! I'm looking at doing some more camping in there in Feb.

New cert was $50 I hope, otherwise I've been gouged..

Lol, I don't feel bad about running miss matched BFG MTR's now.

new certificate was $26 :meh: add $15 installation and some tax = $48 total

the new tire is the new spare - if anyone of the others blow, I'll have two new KM2s on one of the axles :meh:

Hi all; Lorna & I would like to thank Alvin & Slipshot for a great run. Terrific views and the campsite you folks had was awesome. We went on to wheel with Kevin & the Phoenix bunch through Sunday. Just had a great time.
On Monday we drove Hwy 77 south from globe to Dripping Springs. There we drove north on a bladed road through several closed gates until we hit the back gate of Government Springs Ranch. This gate was posted with horses present and we chose to respect the owners wishes. This ranch is on mineral creek and we believe is the same ranch we exited through on Saturday. We were able to see the road up to Pioneer Pass where Michael had the fuel issue. We then retraced our steps about a mile and turned East on FR 248 to FR112 and back south to dripping Springs. Fantastic views to the West and old mines. Any one wishing to run Saturdays trail in reverse; there is easy access to pioneer pass up Icehouse canyon or sixshooter canyon in Globe.
Government Springs Ranch - Gila and Pinal County - Headquarters West
The listing above has nice photos and a description of the ranch.

Although the top no longer snaps in the rear and sucks it in like a vacuum cleaner, a sincere word of thanks is in order here for letting me run point. WOW!
Steve, great pic, BTW..

I had a great time with ya'll!

Good deal, last time they had to order the new tire?

yes, but now they had a least a few KM2s in stock - maybe there are more wheelers in Fountain Hills now :hhmm:
