When i took it all down, i used car polish. It looked brittle. It looks good from 10ft. Haha!

Random notes that may be helpful:
Engine has an oil pressre sending unit, dash cluster has an oil light. To work correctly, the OPSU needs swapped for an oil switch. I think I posted the rockauto PN in my FJ45 thread.

The cam does not appear to have the retaining clip on it?

In one of your pics, the 2 carbs are visible. They do have different neck diameter, so a 70-72 2bbl air cleaner is gonna be needed for the big carb.

I probably made a mistake picking up an OPSU from Kevin (kevos37), since I have the oil light (?). Is the Beck/Arnley link you posted the correct one for early ('63) 1F engines? (2010452). Thanks.

Thanks Jim, i will purchase the oil switch. Good eye on the cam. I did install it just snapped the pic before hand. I wonder if anyone out there has a really rusted out smooth top air cleaner? Bet i could cut the bottoms out to keep the oem look.

Been working with John @SLOCRUISER . Sent him a 25 and 40 rubber headlight ring. Goes between the headlight bucket and bib. 25s are larger. If you need a set hit John up.

Got the carb together for this project. Initially looked pretty good on the outside...

But closer inspection showed some rust issues, including a stuck throttle.

And some antediluvian corrosion inside.

Still, it looks promising, so a kit is ordered from Sirius in Cananananada.
