Got to pull the cross shaft (part that the pitman arm attaches to) before you pull the power piston, worm shaft and valve body. I'm wrapping this up for a 40-series Power Steering Gearbox SST's & Rebuild. I'm curious what parts transfer over from your project. I've posted pictures of the FSM and markings for the bearings and seals when I could identify them.

The seals appear to be the same as the one on the 40-series, 55-series and early pickup boxes. NOK AP8096E 164; Also, found this thread:

Early Style IFS box seal.

Here is the correct part number for an early style IFS box input shaft seal.

The number on the seal is NOK AP8096E. The Toyota number is 90311-19002

There are a lot of posts that cross reference it to Toyota 90311-24001, CR 7007, SKF 7007, and National 222450. It is said to be the same as the power steering pump shaft seal in many posts also.

I never had my power steering pump seal out so I can't say for sure but.........it is NOT the correct seal for the steering box input shaft. It's too big.

I didn't want to buy a $100 kit to reseal my entire steering box when all I needed was one seal. Thought I'd share and save you guys some time and frustration if you have a leaky steering box.
