Long days work
Initially thought L Locker was really loud and engaged when it shouldn't of been. But realized
I didn't secure tire carrier. Doh!

Wish I could get the top removed by tomorrow but probably wont happen.
Driving back from the shop I had a guy in a Suburban wave me down and ask
what year it was. When I told him he hollered that he had a 72. He was from somewhere in TN.

That's a common occurrence. I had a guy in a 4-Runner follow me down the interstate in north Alabama flashing his lights and waving. I thought I was blowing out oil or something worse. Pulled into a truck stop to investigate and he followed me. It was Dave Gangle from MUD. He said he'd spotted the rustbucket and just wanted to talk 40's.
Maybe if you have help, or a hoist. Otherwise count on >30.
Guys will just wave you down on the road. Girls will approach you in parking lots with interesting proposals. 40's are chick magnets, even beater 40's. Shush is correct, get used to it.

Other than choke cable and gaskets what's missing? I didn't do it bc of $ and ignorance.

that would be one wire - to the solenoid on the carb
If the carb insulator is in good shape, you don't need any gaskets. That IS the gasket.
And you can drive it without the choke, but you have to hang out with it for a few minutes while it warms up. I went an entire winter because I was too lazy to replace my broken choke cable. Turns out I could've replaced it in the time it takes to warm up the engine one time.
