Get an aftermarket skid. Stocks hardly worth it.

I have 2. Double them up. I can bring to the Crawl or you can pick them up when you are in Jxn.

That said, I have the IPOR. If you go OEM now, definitely plan for the IPOR later.

There's a shop in Memphris that rebuilds them. Dave's something or another. Does winch stuff, too.

Yep. Most have lifetime warranty. I've traded mine in once - for a stripped thread (my fault).

That ad is incorrect. '83 was the "last year of the FJ40 in the US," not '82.

Fewer than 300 40'S were imported to the US in '82, not "a few thousand." Some have speculated that the number was closer to 200 per year in '82 and in '83.

For years in which models overlapped, Toyota doesn't break down import numbers by model. The total number imported in 1982, FJ40's and FJ60's combined, was 3.088. According to Toyota's best estimate, more than 90% of those were 60's.

I can't beleive it isn't being flipped for more than that. I think it was $6,500 two weeks ago in hattiesburg. Must have got it cheaper than what the guy was asking. What happened to the winch?

Rebuild the alternator if it original Toyota. I had an 82, shouldn't have ever sold it.
