Also, Marlin Crawler still uses ORS for their harnesses when they do swaps for customers.

Marlin is an incredible guy who treats his customers like friends and his friends like family.

All you have to do is send ORS an email and Mike the owner will make you one. That is one thing he is still doing. So go for it. He has great tech support and great to do deal with.

Took up your advice and emailed him two days back. Still waiting on a reply, but I'm willing to give him time.

Wish I had done this instead of the 22re I rebuilt, still like my good ole 22RE, but the 2.7 would have been better. Perhaps I'll look around for a doner truck and sell my 22RE.

Great build, if I do not drop the 3.4 litre 3B diesel into the runner, this is my next option...

Do you know how to wire the 3rz in to a 92 toyota pick up

You will need to be creative. It's not plug and play. The best thing to do is get the wire diagram for the engine, and the wire diagram to your truck, and look them over.

I went through a transplant with a 3FE into an old FJ40. There were only a few wires that were not engine/ECU related. Temp gauge, tach, switched power, full time power, 4x4 switch, brake switch, just off the top of my head. I'm sure there were more. How you incorporate the new engine into your truck will be up to you.

What's the average cost of a decent used 3rz complete unit?

I can only speak for my local U-Pull.

Engine complete: $225
ECU: $40
Harness: $32

This doesn't include any of the other little things you will find you need. It also assumes they might actually have a donor. Most places are much higher. A quick search of Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market found prices up to $4000.

If my 20R ever takes a dive I'd love to do this swap. 3RZ is a really good engine. We used to have a customer that had one with almost 900,000 miles. He was an escort driver for over-sized load trucks. Still had the original engine and transmission. Only thing "major" that had been changed on the engine was a valve cover gasket.
