Oh man...you said golf! Now I need to see if there is room for the clubs. Oh how I would love to suck at golf in Colorado!
So I bought a GoPro for the trip. Obviously for video on the trail rides and other fun stuff but I want to run a time lapse of some of the ride out from inside the cabin. Any of you guys have one and have a suggested setup for doing time lapse for a days worth of highway riding? I have the stock batt, 2 LCD Bacs and 2 aftermarket batts but would assume I can plug the USB into a cig lighter/inverter and not mess with batteries.
Any suggested settings, things to avoid etc.?

Disclaimer I don't have a gopro but some photo tech applies to all platforms.
Get a neutral density filter if you can (do a google search). Real life and indeed, movies go past in a blur, not as static frames. an ND filter will give you a more realistic final result. Most of my timelapses are shot with an ND filter.
I would do 10 second intervals (I think gopro lets you do 10 and 2?). it's not as smooth as 2 seconds but you will consume less data and it will be easier to manage afterwards. Also if you can lower the photo quality so it is at or near HD resolution (1920x1080) that will save a lot of space. There is no reason to shoot a timelapse at 5MP (2592x1944). You are just wasting memory space and boging down your computer.
FYI a 10 second interval will give you ~1.6minutes of video at 30p for an 8 hour drive (double check my math). An alternative would be to do 2 second intervals of only the "interesting" parts of the drive and then montage them together....cause....everybody needs a montage.

Haha....the reason for the challenge is that I have seen plenty of excited GO PRO guys take a lot of footage and it takes a LONG time for them to go through all the data and make something that looks decent. GO PRO does an excellent job of advertising/marketing but it takes some real time and skill to get cool stuff like they show....Good luck to you guys!!!

This is very true. I only know one or two guys that have actually followed through with finalizing video in the last couple years.
Here is one that was fun day out. Much faster and closer than it looks. We will be driving slower in Ouray.
What day are you looking to play? I'm guessing with the motorhome, you'll have room for my clubs? I haven't played since my back surgery, but I heard you stink anyway

I've filmed and made a finished video once...and it was not fun. But I'm gonna try and see this one through...good intentions never hurt!

Video is a labor of love to start with and I imagine the throw away data on time lapse like that will be massive. I figure at least capture it and then I'll go from there. Don't expect too much from me!
I'm more of a dSLR stills guy but we shall see where this goes!(See how I'm already dodging the August 2014 deadline?
)Eta: no filters available for fitment on the GoPro I believe. Maybe I can do something for ND in post processing, doubtful though and its hard to compete with physical filters IMO.

Not sure, played there last year with my wife and we really liked it. No motorhome anymore. Just a slide-in-camper in the Cheby

I'll be bringing several quarts of turkey stew we have put up for something different and local to my slice of the world.
(Made sure to find something with no peanut products as requested.)
This is not even remotely similar to turkey stew like the leftover Thanksgiving recipes on the internet by the way. This is from scratch, slow cooked for hours in cauldrons. We even cook bacon, 30-50lbs of it, to procure the grease for it. The recipe is held closely and on its 3rd generation IIRC.
Old School, 1000 quarts at a time:
