Last minute question. Will any of these trails require carrying extra gas? If so, I guess I will get a milk crate and mount it to my ladder somehow, maybe get a can in there.

I haven't been in that area before but was reading about the trails and they appear to be all less than 15 miles! My guess is no need for gas cans but the experienced ones will have a better input.

No, extra gas won't be necessary.

^this. Fuel is plentiful, albeit expensive in each of the mountain towns we will be driving through. My guess is that you will be looking at 1.5 tanks to get you through Friday through Sunday with daily chances to top off. Extra fuel is just extra dead weight.

I'm still going to steal your trailer! That was a question that, as soon as I posted, I went  I knew better.

Packing time. Who else is walking around the house/garage trying to find stuff and have no idea where they went?

Ha. Me. I've got a checklist but I keep finding things I need that aren't on it!

No list here because of the same exact reason! But then again..I'm nowhere near ready to leave either!

Since Marc is bringing green.. I decided to go with red.

This is red chile asado, slow cooked pork in a large cast iron cauldron, then the fresh chile is added and cooked for another 1.5 hours. Also, a fresh pot of pinto beans was also made, and now going into the freezer. I figure I'll make Burritos Friday.

I have a check list going as well but what sucks is how slow I'm checking things off!!!

That's why I make my check list a little earlier, that way you still have time to add or cut off things from it!

Looks good. Got my gumbo ready today. Freezing it tonight.

I'm heading out from SLC Wednesday morning. I should be at the camping area by 5 or so. We are thinking of hitting Ouray Brewery for dinner that night if anyone is going to be in town early.

Procrastinated enough to find out that my truck won't run my Edgestar unless the truck is running! Son-of-a-----! One day left before I head out! Either I hope of rather best, or do a quick and dirty direct to battery install of a cigarette plug. Damn that's gonna suck! I guess it's just like installing and amplifier, but I hate doing that crap!

Do a search, you can make a simple jumper to make you CIG plugs hot all the time

Well the fridge powers up off of one plug. I get a temp reading, but I don't hear the compressor kick on. I tried with an inverter and the truck off too. Fridge works fine plugged into the wall right now. I thought maybe the truck/battery doesn't have enough juice the fridge kicked off to save the battery, but it is a less than week old Die Hard Group 31 battery!

Your fridge might allow you to adjust the low voltage sensitivity. I have been running my ARB fridge via the stock power outlets as well, with no problems.
If it helps, I have a Honda EU2000i generator you can share while in camp.

Is there a convenient place near our campsite that I can buy a fishing license in person? Or is it best to just buy online?

If you buy online in CO do they provide you with a temporary license in lieu of waiting on the mailout?
