Whats the 3FE guys doin for power steering pumps these days? Mine finally took a crap and I can’t seem to find one other than O’Reilly‘s $280 american one.

It's been a busy October for me, upgrade to LED bulbs all around used (LASFIT) plug and play LED's seems to be good so far. Picked up ROSEN SUNVISOR SYSTEMS, they are pretty much AWESOME! Ordered a set of Victory 4X4 rear MOLLE screen, (on sale right now). Then put in an order with White Knuckle Off Road Products for so lone (69 inch) steps/ sliders, will post when they come in.

Good looking rig. Love the visors.

thanks I went with a local one because of the warranty. It actually seems pretty robust. It has lasted 150 miles without issues.

Here’s my 1991 80. Just hit 290k last night.

Bought 2 years ago stock and after changing fluids did a 1500 mile road trip and since then has had many maintenance mods done and driving amazing! Looking forward to stage 2 of the build where I get to finally start adding some “fun” mods to her. 3fe forever!

I had this same issue, surging, lost of power, etc. It was my fuel pulsation damper..... cheap replacement and insurance...
For posterity.. you win being smart today.

If you have seemingly undiagnosable surging and low power replace the pulsation damper.

This was a good deep baselining dive that was needed. Did find a damaged reluctor wheel in the dizzy that is to be fixed soon.

@Marco Lau I owe you a beer 🍺

Glad it worked out. Cheers🍺

Well I just bought one for parts. It was in an accident where the truck went off a gravel road and hit a tree head on. The bumper got smashed in, broke the grill and took out the radiator. The owner said he drove it home 10 minutes away and by the time he got there it was overheating. So probably the engine is shot but we’ll see. I’m thinking about fixing it but I guess it depends on the engine.

So, I'm trying to set up a Hopkins 43405 trailer light kit on my early production 91. I believe I saw a post from @jonheld that Mr T changed the 6-pin connector somewhere around 92, so the plug-n-play option is not. The old 6-pin connectors are N/A (90980-10366, -10367).
I think that the Hopkins kit is using 90980-11001, -11002. (Now ordered 90980-10998). I'm ordering (2) pairs to re-pin the old connectors to fit the new Hopkins harness. I'm sure there is a less expensive 6-pin housing option, but just wanted to see if I can keep everything OEM-ish.

Figured I'd just drop this here if anyone else goes looking in the future...

I'll report back early next week as to if this fix is correct.

Merry Christmas, MUD!

OK, so much for trying something unfamiliar.

The 6-pin plastic plugs 90980-11001, 90980-10998 are correct to fit the Hopkins kit.
-- HOWEVER --
The crimped connectors that fit into them are ALSO different! WTF?!? I gave up, and ordered Molex 6-pin connectors to re-do the whole Effin' thing. I am on a deadline to travel this weekend, dragging a trailer, so I have to just get it done. Hopefully Amazon will have it on my doorstep tomorrow.
If anyone wants to find the right crimped wire connector parts, go for it- I ASSumed they would be the same.

Looking for some help, I like the cloth seats in my 91, would it be cheaper to find replacement seats (driver & passenger) or have them rebuilt? I live in Dallas TX, and leather is a NO GO for me in the heat. Thanks

We're working on a seat kit and should have it released soon that will be less than 2,000 shipped for both fronts and brackets. Pretty excited about it! Rugged Overland - https://ruggedoverland.com/ They'll be on the main page when we release!
