What fan:confused:

I'd have to say no:D

I agree, maybe I'll just delete it all together. You don't get vapor lock with EFI anyway, so Iam not sure what the purpose on the FJ62 was.

Pappy - do you have a picture of how you routed the air filter and AFM. I would like to shorten mine and maybe angle it towards the PS of the truck, and not out the front. But it does get nice air flow out the front, maybe I should leave it alone?

All I can say here is MAP sensor:D

Pappy, Matt, Alex,

Are you guys leaving or even using the carb fan? Randy and I where talking about leaving it, and just putting it on a toggle switch and I could just use it when I wanted to. What's you take on it?

I'm putting the fan back in mine (mine didn't have one to begin with). I parted out the engine fan ECU from a donor truck so it will work automatically. There is a temp sensor on the exhaust manifold that activates it... check the wiring diagram. I assume that is additional cooling for it because it gets extra hot.

Also, what are the two pipes that run on the very bottom of the passenger side engine block? They look like fuel lines or lines to the charcoal canister. I removed them for now.

Couple more of the progress...And my Project Manager said I could have the rest of the week OFF!! :bounce:

What did you use to block off the EGR attachment to the exhaust manifold?

Tapped mine out to take a BSP plug available at your local plumbers.

Are there no 34mm (I can't remember the exact size) cap nuts out there? I don't really like to alter anything, whether or not I will ever use t that way again.

I used an expansion plug, which may or may not work once the manifolds gets real hot. My backup plan is to take another fitting, grind off the threads that stick up, and weld a bolt head into the hole. I might do that anyway.

Iam going to drop a 5/16 freeze plug or a round blank into the original nut off the egr, and add a little RTV to it. The freeze plug I picked up at Napa has a rounded top and matches the curve in the nut so it should make a good seal. Iam then had a few of these Stainless steel EGR plates made. I have a few extras if people need one - just PM me.

I'll bet that fitting is metric pipe thread. McMaster-Carr sells bronze caps in several metric sizes that might work. Not cheap, though.

Per Randy's inquiry.......I don't count carbs.....two, it will siphon valuable HP from the engine. How does anyone expect me to win if there's all these extra items running on belts, yada, yada. After driving Red Ain't Dead, I don't see the need for PS actually. I thought it was already installed and Randy informed me it is not a PS truck.

I took something to sleep last night after spending all of Sat/Sun out in the shop cutting & fletching arrows and shooting my bow. I am half looped still. I did watch Patton though for the first time.

Coffee about to kick in......gotta do some Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools for a bit before I go back outside.

You should engrave them with your logo. BTW, I really like this ...

Alex - I can't imagine going off road, climbing over a few rocks, and not have power steering. I do agree with you, the truck is very easy to drive with out it in the city, but I don't think Michelle would be able to..she will like the power steering.

The other week I had the truck down town and I was parallel parking - man the PS would of been great! :)

There are no rocks on the ranch........but I hear ya.

Bottle opener?

What did you guys do for the neutral start switch? I see from the wiring diagram that the common must be shrted to either P or N to start. But what happens if you drive with it always on P or N?

Bottle opener?

Yes - it a very important 3FE tool. A lot of the FJ62/3FE guys are hard core micro brew beer snobs, so I had those 3FE poppers made up for the last 3FE Bash.

Maybe I'll get a batch for just up 3FE40 guys made up with "3FE-FJ40" on them. Anyone with a 3FE40 would get one for free!!:beer::beer::beer:

You almost had me there. With a manual tranny you don't need it. The B-W from the ignition switch just goes straight to the ECU and provides a start signal.

The neutral start switch only allows power to the starter.

edit: The B-W wire from the start switch is spliced into the B-R wire. Both go to the ECU, but only receive power when the key is turned to start. It doesn't have power all the time.
