im about to run into a lot of money and am tryin to start planning what i want to do with it. i was wondering if it would be possible to fit a tune port injected chevy 350 stroked out to a 383 and possibly twin screw supercharged under the hood of a 1990 toyota extended cab pickup? i really doubt it but i have to ask.

Yes, sir, with the super the hood might have to have a cowling of some kind!!

good luck and have some fun with it:p

You can probably fit it, but why? The stock toyota drivetrain isn't going to like it.

oh to be young......what one of us hasn't dreamed of what he is panning,

like the thought of your money sitting where you cannot use it?

I to like the thought of a $50,000 Toyota PU.........as long as its someone else's, I'd hang on to my coin theres a storm a brew'en...It might be better off somewhere else, where you can make money off it....

Jiminy.....

yup, a $20,000 motor = a dead drive train

However, if you insist.

AA has a NV4500 to Toyota TC.........probably free

You'll either need chr-mo's all around, or custom axles, ............there in the bargain bin at the Dollar General.

Custom drive shafts..........

A welder for all the mounts & x members......................just buy a fab shop.

Plasma,

Ahhh, the twin screw,,,, boy the engine builders gonna see you coming, heres a sexy one to put you into the mood.

How much of a lift are you planning? If you can lower the engine in the frame you will be able to fit it in with a stock hood with room to spair, with a Vic Jr i can still run 6" of air filterer on mine.
Super charger, what for, you can easily build 500hp and a like amount of torque in a 383 with the right heads and cam and still run on reg gas.

well i really want to go 6 more inches than i have with dana 44's front and rear rollin at least a 40's... o and i want the supercharger cause i think it would be sick to have somewere around 600 horse in my lil truck and be able to leave some of the lil bitch cars that are rollin around town... o and the big diesels too!

yeah until the first curve!,

theres a little term in old British racing touring cars called "the wolf pack"

the little minis/ rileys would go around all the bigger cars in the curve so fast it would make them look stupid, then in the straights the bigger more powerful cars would catch up, this would go on throughout the long race, resembling wolves chasing down there prey.....(they have turns both left and right over there....LTO is for sissy's!)

the thought.....

Dude please invest (in your self 1st) what you have, then you can always build with the profits.

Somebody is suffering from testosterone poisoning. Or you're trying to make up for some other shortcoming.

A lifted truck is NOT a sports car. You wanna go fast? Buy a Mustang. But please don't do it on public streets.

haha the only thing im makin up for is lack of power... and gettin toyota some respect around here! everyone is always like... why did you lift a toyota? they are soo under powered! but i still walk all over there ford in the mud... and they are still haters. even though i really wanna charge it i probably wont... cause a 383 stroker will have enough horses and i can tune it for the rediculous torque i want...

Sooo... you're gonna solve all the Toyota-hate by swapping in Dana axles and a GM powerplant.

Ya, that makes perfect sense.

that engine will require a rework of your entire rig as others have already mentioned.....

In order to cool it sufficiently, your radiator will end up in the bed or the core support will be chopped beyond recognition and you'll need two batteries just to power the amount of fans you'll need...

if ya want to race on the strip, get a ricer... if ya want to build up your rig for its purpose (offroad : ) then look at swapping in a newer 4banger, 4.3L V6, or even a 3.0 liter diesel ( buy a half cut from SOR): all will fit and be more practical than a 383.... JMHO. Those would be really cool...

then you could have the dough for a SAS, custom suspension, ARB's, winch, etc. that would all really GET IT : )

Power (and empty pockets) does not equal respect around here, may not sound like it but but in reality it dont.

IMO, building a sleeper rig that can can walk all over anyone and go anywhere (not just the back of a trailer), and capable of DD is where its at.

Build quality, proper DT, traction and skill would offset your new windfall....you dont have to prove anything to anyone but yourself.

:frown: D44's? Petersen's 4WOR April 08, p.28 Rubicon E-locked axles brand new from #$%# for $1,400 (gets both!)

If I had the coin and a LWB Toyota I'd go Volvo or Mog, 37's have the ground clearance of a 44 but what do you do with all that under drive?

:grinpimp: < click

:hhmm: and you got a motor thats light and loves rev's, hmmmm...:hhmm:

yeah i am v6... and my dad had a tpi chevy 350 in the truck before he gave it to me... and it had all stock axles. it was street and performance tuned and was pushin out i think somwere around 400 lb's of torque... pushin 42's and yeah he did have to cut out the radiator suppost to fui the huge be cool radiator but it was an animal and was rarely short of power. o and it was still an everyday driver... just like it still is today.

a toyota turbo diesel??? that doesnt have the power i want.
