im about to run into a lot of money and am tryin to start planning what i want to do with it. i was wondering if it would be possible to fit a tune port injected chevy 350 stroked out to a 383 and possibly twin screw supercharged under the hood of a 1990 toyota extended cab pickup? i really doubt it but i have to ask.

Nick,

I had the same truck that you have and here is my advice to you. I would not under any circumstances put any Crapolet parts in a Toyota.

For 25k, I would do a restore and put a very good Toyota Engine-get a 4 cylinder crate motor and keep it simple. You can probably find a half cut and put a diesel engine.

There is a wealth of knowledge from this subforum about these trucks and these fellas speak from experience.

Dont do it.

I guess I [feel like] I relate to Nick pretty well , because of someone I know.

I met a 17 Y.O. kid a couple of years ago.

He was already a very accomplished turkey hunter, and had a very nice Black , 4x4 ext. cab Tacoma , that he loved. Much like Nick's.

We hit it off pretty quick , and hunted together some , and talked toyotas.

Well , his gramma/momma/daddy would shower him with pricey truck parts constantly , as his offroad enthusiasm grew.

Lift , tires , and so-on. I helped him install his lift and offered advice on upgrades , etc. I tried to get him to invest in a solid axle first.

He went through swampers like butter , proceeded to dent and generally tear his nice truck up.

I even found him a nice mini truck to build and wheel , that he bought, as the Tacoma was a DD to get him to work.

Nope....gramma's money-a-plenty......kept going through and installing bigger and bigger tires......cause that was "badass".

Long story short , over a short period of time ......the truck's front end has come apart twice on him , going down the road. He's lucky to be alive.

He's nearly lost all respect from his family, because of his foolish behavior and spending , and barely has a ride to work!

Nick , dear God , read , research , listen. Build smart , with a purpose. Don't kill yourself , or your future. Get an education.

And please don't butcher that beautiful , perfectly good truck, in your avatar!! FWIW  < N/A

But it won't be "sick" that way and the envy of all the "cooter country guys" at the mall ....er....mud pits....

i understand what your saying and this wont be an everyday driver when i do what i want to it... i will do a sas on it while it is an everyday driver but it will keep the guzzling for absolutely no point at all 3.slow while that is happening. i don't wheel a rediculous amount anymore because of the pain in the ass to clean my truck but when i do i want it to perform like it should! it does horribly on an RTI ramp...

You got headers and an exhaust on that motor yet?

......I can think of a GREAT place to start!!

You make that sound like you just found that out?

headers and an SA TWO GRAND and be done with it!

$8,500???

I got a better idea...... 1st thing you need to do when you get that money is go get it in cash, find you a nice CHOICE (new paint low milege;) ) 55gallon drum, put ALL that money (ex what the drum cost, and starter fluid ;)) in it and set fire to the lot...

TRUST ME!!

the next time you got/ (get) money you will appreciate it more and be more responsible with it.

the Po boy iz out :grinpimp:

my dad put headers on my moms fourrunner and it really didnt seam worth it... it was a pain in the ass to put them on because of the tight space and they weren't cheap. no matter what you do to the motor its still gonna be a slow gass guzzler. i have read on this forum that turbo charging them doesn't even help
