Oh, I didn't realize it was a live demo, your right, other priorities will be at hand.

1st time at the Rubicon/Rubithon.

My buddy and I are coming out from the east coast and were hoping to get some additional wheeling in after the Rubithon. I saw mention of a couple of options and wanted to revisit those here.

We were considering Fordyce but I wanted to learn about other options (and if there are folks wheeling those after the event)

Thanks

I think you're referring to what @Firemedic831 and a couple others may be up to after the event. I can honestly say if you're out here to really wheel, Fordyce is a great option after warming up on Rubicon. There are other trails up there to wheel for sure, and other things to play on in Rubicon that most of the runs won't go through, but for an experience, Fordyce is my jam

Fordyce will be dependent on how the creek is flowing.
What are you bringing?

I'm in a SUA FJ40 on 35s with ARB lockers F/R. 3.56 diffs and an H55 5 speed with 4:1 low range gears on the split case.
My buddy is in a pretty Lexus LX450 on 36s and F/R lockers.... some lower gearing in his transfer.
Both of us have winches, beadlocks, sliders and skids

From what I have heard is the river should be lower this year as they are doing work on the dam . I confirm this on June 31st

Other than Fordyce (which, while we are not afraid of tough trails, looks to be a bit of a beast, especially for a wide 450/80) what would be good other options in the area?

I also like the idea of exploring areas of the Rubicon not on the usual routes... especially if they can be easily hit out of the Springs on those days in camp there.

Your trail leader Ray Hancock will be reaching out to everyone on that run here soon . I can not speak for Ray but it’s possible that a small group breaks off and runs little sluice and then meets back up with the main group. Before you get to Buck island . This is something you can talk to him about . If things go well on Wed I am going to try and run up to Buck in the late afternoon And 90 percent sure I will be up there Early Thursday morning to help get everyone out of Buck island. As that tends to be a huge jam. And with the wagon run having a large group that’s going to take a bit of work . More than likely I will just Watch. And cheer you on
