I have seen rigs loaded way to top heavy spank soup when you are just waiting for the roll, hit it.

I have not changed anything . Just need to put some tire shine on and I am ready 🙄. Then I woke up. And realized I have to hit the panic button 😳

Just for reference when we had Record Snow 2 years ago And the event got moved to Aug a few of us still went in In June when it was planned and it was a non issue . This year there has been a Light Snow pack and unless something crazy happens ( I have no clue ) I am not going to worry about it .

I know it seems like a ways off still, but there's only 20 more weekends left to get rigs ready. Some of us only need one or two, but I know some of us need closer to 15 of those weekends. Anyone working on anything?
I have to do head gaskets on my LS and since I'm in there it's getting cammed. also need to get my hydo assist installed. Need to get that done before Cruise Moab.... As far as Rubithon prep, i guess anything i might break at CM.

What about the snow ?

I forgot who it was, but in 2022 when Rubithon got moved, someone posted a link that they use that shows SNOTEL sites along with a map of where they are. Really good info there. I've been watching it pretty closely since then.

I like how all of this sounds. What setup are you gonna run for your hydro?

Chairman is correct... every year I or another chairman postponed, I would go in the original weekend just to check and sure enough, was probably OK to have gone... but two things about the snow... 1) it is often on the Tehoma side, forest service road after the trail where the snow remains on the East side, in the trees, much more than on the trail which is less elevation... and 2) the chairman and TLCA have to make the correct decision based upon trail conditions and the potential environmental impact of escorting 150 trucks through a saturated trail. No way should we be accused of putting our selves (reputation, ego, Rubithon, whatever) before the trail. We must be good stewards.

For the more experienced folks who have done this for some time, might remember 05 and the 'Let there be no snow'... we had a bunch of snow... I remember Big Jim on the radio while we were in the Springs under our tarps... He comes on ... Tony, everyone wants a refund!

but here is a fact.... after a while, all your events begin to blend into one big memory... but the years where you had problems or Mother Nature challenged you... those stand out as unique, unforgettable trips.

Don't hit the panic button yet... you got this Mr. Chairman! and my favorite motto after the planning is done and the event starts... It is what it is!

05' - memories were made fer sho. Face plants while attempting to walk from the bar to DD , no light, snowing, Dreamins picks me up and just points to DD and walks away. Hardaway & crew show up at 2 am and want to know whats for dinner, it was still snowing, & Luchinni got married up at Miller Lake that weekend, Those times will grow you up quick, expecting another adventure, until then, carry on.........

I know I'm probably in the minority of Rubithon goers, but that sounds like something I need to try

We went in on the original dates in 2023. Trail was only a bit wet with a couple little snow patches. The Tahoe side above Cadillac Hill was wetter and there were some small snow banks that my 80 on 35"s was able to get through without too much drama.
