I attempted to have fixed by dealer and when they looked at it they told me 1) they couldn't hear it and somehow also 2) they fixed it.

When I got the car back, the headliner had been pried open on the left and right of the sunshade and, and, while not visible, you can tell the left side creased/folded when they tried to get access. If you touch the left side of the headliner, it makes a cracking sound now and gives easily.

I could have just broken my own headliner too, but I guess this is what I should expect when I take it to the dealer. I was also quite annoyed because I live an hour+ away and had called in 2 weeks prior to this appointment to order new tires (since the OEM ones failed to last 15K miles) and I had planned to drop my car off very early in the morning before having to catch a flight. We planned it all out, where I'd park, drop keys, etc. Morning of, I woke up at 430am, dropped my car on the way to the airport. At about 11am, hadn't heard anything, so I called the dealer to find they had not remembered about our plans. My car was still sitting on the side of the road. Then their tire tech called me to ask what tires I wanted again. They had failed to order them, and estimated another 2 weeks to get them in. So what should have been a tire replacement, headliner/sunroof rattle fix, and oil change left me with a broken'ish headliner that still rattles, an oil change, and no tires. I've since tried to make contact with the dealer GM who has ghosted me. I know we're all just people and these are just cars (not life/death) , but I'd expect a little more attention provided to a customer who has purchased and drives a new LX and LC500. Dealer confidence is at an all-time low right now for me.

@Oakleyguy are you saying it's the black accordion-looking piece that sits above the sliding mechanism of the glass on the sides?
Man, what a nightmare. Terrifying to have a dealer mess up with your headliner like this. Headliners are one of the toughest things to work on a car. Even if you press them to replace it entirely (since they were the ones to broke it), I doubt it will ever be the same as factory.

Say you're in a situation where you slow down to a slow speed, such as slowing down for a red light and it turns green.

Your speed is below 10km/h (6MPH) then you press the accelerator and you get... NOTHING. A slow seemingly eternal pause before the transmission engages and moves the vehicle forward. Pressing a little harder does nothing other than make the jolt a little harder.

So many instances of this and it can be downright dangerous in some situations.

Dealership told me that they tested a new one off the showroom floor and it does the same, condition: normal (??!?!?!!!)

Am I the only one with this issue?

Common
Best to ensure they create a case in the tech system.
The only things I’ve found that mitigates it is:
1. Set PCS to min distance
2. It’s worse in sport modes (it must be torque throttle back settings in the transmission)
3. Light pedal input vs flooring it

The above make it better but it’s the only real drawback I see in my rig. I hit them up to create a tech case every time.

Yeah, it's the same for mine. I don't notice in Sport or Sport+ at all. I almost got hit when i forgot i was on Eco and making a left turn into a road, there's a car coming but it was far enough that i can make it, but when i pressed the gas, the car just crept up slowly in the middle of the road, i floored and it still took a half a beat before it engaged. I dodge getting t-boned by about a second. Now, i don't use Eco unless i know I'm doing a long drive.

Hybrid or non hybrid?

Lots of people have reported this for the non hybrid v35as.

If it's a hybrid, did you see what the battery meter was doing when this happened? On my unit the first bit of getting off the line is handled by the battery only, then the engine kicks in after 1-2 seconds.

Yeah. That was my immediate question too. I do not feel this lag in my OT, not even when driving in Eco. I can certainly feel the difference when switching to other mods which liven up the engine but even Eco delivers the required punch when I press down the pedal a bit harder. Sport plus the accelerator becomes so sensitive that I almost never use, though I like the firmer suspension in that mode. There are so many driving options to choose with this OT that it’s almost too much.

I dont think there's a way to see battery meter on the 700h

It happens quite often for me.

Right next to the turbo boost gauge.

Lately the past two mornings, I have been getting the infamous break squeak when reversing out of my driveway. Very faint, but audible. It only happens in the morning when it is colder. Anybody getting the same? Is this like the prevalent squeak I see discussed in the Prado section? I know for the Prado they have a TSB. Not sure for GXs and LXs.

For good measure, my wife's VW Cross atlas does the same squeak and one of my neighbors wifey car is a Prado and I also hear the squeak when she is backing out their driveway.

On our prado after the rear brake pad replacements the squeak went away. The 600 is always parked in the garage ready to go but have never heard it reversing like the 250. Maybe they fixed it on 24 models.

Haven't heard it from my OT but my car is parked in a garage overnight and honestly, it's been fairly warm here in PNW, around this time and skiing season is pretty much done. 😆

I get it one a week or so. There is an official TSB but parts are on back order according to my dealer

I get it every once in a while but never in reverse, always in drive. But I do always back in at the office which is the only time it sits outside in the cold regularly. It’s pretty loud at first then goes away.

Just had my third squeak. It was so so so loud. I know someone on this thread has a TIS login, don't post the TSB (cause thats a T&C violation) just let us know the jist and if it exists. I bought a 2 day pass last week and didn't see it for the LX, I think I saw it for the GX.

Did you end up finding a solution here? Mine is getting worse...
I haven't messed with it yet.

I still have the painters take up there and it's still mostly resolved. I'll try to grab a photo later today showing where to put the tape.
