I feel like grenadier tried to meet that market and turns out nobody wants it they just say they do. Thankfully used cars exist.
I mean I assumed 75k wasn’t out of price range this is the LC300 section. I hear you though. Those prices just aren’t a thing anymore I fear.price was/is too high.
There is a want/market for a simple as you can be truck, but they priced it at a premium with a worse ride quality and fit/finish than the competitors....the new Armada for example is about the same price.
$50k for a solid axle, 3 locker, SUV that gets 20 mpgs and is not a Jeep? Yes sir!
At $75k? Na.
Ineos did not build what we are saying we want.
yep...as with most things due to human weirdness.....the pendulum swings wildly left and right
mess it up, break it, fix it, destroy it, complain about it, change it......over and over
we'll see sensible people back in car design at some point.
(have you see modern car designers? they look like they live in a 500 sq ft apartments and have no grasp on the real world)
YES and YES to the infinity! It is just ridiculous all of them wining and wanting that giant tv screen from the GX. I just love the LX buttons and two screens solution. I don't even care the smaller screen is of less resolution/quality than the bigger one and it is great to be able to adjust the rear AC, for example, without having to get out of Carplay in the big screen. Oh, and don't even start me with the even bigger TV screen in the 4runners and Tundras. Same size of the first TV we owned in my house when I was a kid. Idiotic. And yet, pretty much universally car reviewers online say they wished the LX center console was replaced with the GX version, because "big screen good".
No thanks. In this gen, I would much rather take the LX or the Prado center console over the GX anyday.
You need to get out of the US once in a while. The Prado has always been a Land Cruiser. And it has been since 1984.IMO Patrol or Armada what matters is that they brought the full-fledged thing stateside. I much prefer this than what Toyota did by keeping the name Landcruiser while delivering a Prado. Come on, that is insulting at best.

You missed the point. Land Cruiser or not, the Prado is not the full HD LC we used to have with the 200 until 2021. Toyota whored out the name by saying the Prado is the "new Land Cruiser" in the US. The topic has been debated to death here already. You need to get out of the US once in a while. The Prado has always been a Land Cruiser. And it has been since 1984.
.Not true, it hasn’t been a Cruiser since day one. Built on a Hilux chassis in the early days, most agree it was/is a good lightweight “Cruiser” as long as you avoid the 2LT series of engines. Come the late 1990’s, there is nothing even close to a Land Cruiser left.
Cheers

I know, I know...and I own one now in the OT version. Awesome truck, unbelievably supple. Stout and firm at the same time. Fit and finish is indeed amazing, but a man can dream with a Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport once in a while. They do call our US ‘Prado 250’ version a Land Cruiser in other markets but it has a little Prado emblem below the ‘Land Cruiser’ emblem we dont get.
I don’t know of any other change.
And we do get the 300 in the LX version, same SUV with better fit and finish.
End of rant.Posted this in the 200 series section as we’d be looking at the LX. We are now heavily leaning towards a new pro-4x. Interior space is closer to what we want, seats are much more car seat friendly for 3 little kids (tilt for the 3rd row), and in the current segment seems to be the best value buy.
Curious how the few folks who picked them up are fairing. Main offroad use case for us is the town beach, which we go to regularly.
