Did the mustache give away his occupation??? The car sat upside down for a few hours , thus it lost too much tranny fluid, so we were not able to drive it down until we did a parts run. Smoked a little, but drove the two hour trip down the hill, got trailered back to KC. I watched @woody give a lesson on recovery years ago, so I told everyone, not to worry, I was "certified" in recovery -- made them feel better at least.Ahh - Is that Mike?Firefighter - so it probably drove home, right?

Oh, and the roof rack is just sitting up there. It was first to fly off.
I have yet to see anything in any of these "over-landing" trips that requires anything more than a stock Land Cruiser.
I took a 2005 Tundra to Hurricane Creek last year - no sliders 2-3" lift - -and did OK. I had some expert guidance on a couple spots from our group @Izzyandsue @NCFJ and the rest that got me "over the hump" literally
All said, if there is lots of rain, heavy washouts and you decide to try something crazy that you shouldn't - - I guess you could get stuck.
Our biggest obstacles have seemed to be road closures due to fires set by aholes.
So Leslie and I are going to be delivering some farm equipment for a friend that is moving to the western most tip of Virginia around that time frame. I am thinking of bringing camping gear for us to join in for a couple nights. There won't be room for Lexi on my trailer so unless the trails are mild and wide enough for Brutus we are fine with socializing in the evenings and sightseeing via alternate routes.
Bonus thought: Trailer will be available for return trip in case of serious uh-oh moment for others and might even be able to shuttle other tow rigs if needed.
I wish I lived close enough to you to help cover situations like that. It's my dream - cooking for people, small scale, who paid money but not in MY place!I was also noticing that we have to make breakfast on the 4th for two guests before we leave. Going to try to talk them into a small discount for that day and a continental breakfast so we can get down the road on the 3rd - we shall see.

Interesting idea. Do you prefer hair nets or chef hats at TRH?We want to make dreams happen here at The Rosemary House B&B and The Kindred Gallery.
I could see a future "vacation" for you and Sarah - maybe one morning cooking breakfast for guests and then enjoy the weekend the rest of the time.
